I like Design 2 the most, second best is the skull. It would be cool if "The Design" spelled something with the maze jumble (like a cryptic Keff, or something chippy).

This. A thousand times. Mod the cart with a Kirby's tilt'n'tumble so you can shake to erase.

All you really need is maybe a little code in the corner that says the design number and production run number, then maintain a catalogue online. Instant collectibles! I'd pay $4 for Keff stickers, totally affordable.

Not a picture; but I changed my cartridge's batteries today and decided to see what happened to the data. Here's what Data Corruption sounds like smile

Arecibo Radio has plenty of good shows. Also 8bitx.

My official review is in now that I've listened through fully:

It's like someone dumped a gallon of talent in with Nutella and bacon bits, swirled it all around and somehow figured out how to deliver it via internet.

And you can quote me on that.

In all seriousness this is a phenomenal work of art, a variety of styles all blending together in a beautiful medley of rises and falls. Thanks for putting all this together! I look forward to being part of the label myself, I'll be honoured to be alongside this.

This is some Fresh Presch.

:-) Thanks for pulling this together!

Just wanted to let you know I'm cool with it and everything, regardless of what people say. I gave my instruments out so of course I expect them to be used.

I "recommend" that you work at making your own, but don't let people convince you that I'm somehow mad at you. Peace!

I endorse this idea. Really couldn't hurt, and there's room there anyway.

Well, that would be pretty boring and monophonic at best, most of the 1 bit trackers are more complex, using drums, and more instruments and then using software tricks to blend everything and represent it in a 1 bit output. Ends up sounding pretty cool. Maybe some 1 bit piezoelectric buzzer mods are in order, and THAT would be cool.

Yeah, it's definitely been presented, consider that my +1.

Pixel art sounds pretty cool, and relatively easy to make. Maybe it could be used for simple animations too. I if you want to be ambitious you could try to use the vestigial audio in line to do basic visualizations or something.

Suggestion from the other thread would be for a fleshed out 1 bit tracker for the DMG, though it's not a 1 bit system I'm sure you could find a way to reduce the bit depth down to a beeper mode. Could be fun.

i think that none of you are realizing what defines "x-bit"... if so called "8-bit" music is generated on a device w/ an 8-bit processor... then 1-bit music would require a device with a 1-bit processor - and the gameboy doesnt have one

True, but I don't see a problem in calling it "1-bit music" if the song only uses one bit of the 4-bit soundchip's hardware.

Yes it is a 4 bit system, and but using 1 of 4 channels still doesn't make it 1 bit. And even if you limited yourself to one volume level for that channel it likely still wouldn't end up as true 1 bit. Someone could probably program the gameboy to output in beeper fashion, and but I wouldn't be convinced by anything coming from lsdj. Maybe suggest it in nitro's thread for rom suggestions.

You can convert pretty much anything into any format now with adapter cables, so it's basically convenience/personal preference. I've been going with 1/8th" personally just because my stereo system at home uses it, but I'm thinking either RCA or 1/4" are more Robust for live stuff. Take your pick.

Hey guys, I decided to drop some knowledge.

Here's two videos detailing commands in LSDJ from A-Z and and explanations of what they all do. There's a basic video for everyone to watch, goes quick and explains every command and how it works, then an advanced one which goes through some of the intricacies of more advanced techniques. Hopefully you can learn something. More videos coming eventually. (Next up is a walkthrough of the "Glitch" save from "Parallel Processing")
