go to Maplin if your in the UK,
buy the cheap Maplin one,
buy a cheap spring stand and solder sponges from a diy store,
go home, turn on the soldering iron, file around the tip quickly then tin the tip straight afterwards,

and you have a really effective soldering iron

mine has lasted for over a year and i'm always circuit bending, fixing, modifying, building circuits, etc, anything i can get my hands on cheap

Hi there,

I was just wondering whether this would work or if there was another solution to my problem.

GB Transferer -> USB to Parallel port adapter -> Mac  -> GB Cart Flasher (the software for mac)

or

GB Transferer -> USB to Parallel port adapter -> Mac  -> Parallels or similar software -> original gb transferer software

Thanks

Lyam

btw. this kind of silver coloured paperboard shield thing... what is it for exacly? Can I just discard it?

if i remember correctly, they put the metallic metal shields in the sega megadrives to stop interference with something but apparently it was useless and not needed... so i assume its the same for the commodore 64 although i might be wrong

This is BS. I use a GBP, prefer it for the better screen, and have never had issues with cart crashes. Of course, I am not prone to run my GB until the batteries are completely and totally dead, which will corrupt saves on any GB.

Nah. The EMS carts do have big problems with pockets. Bleepbloops and Smartboys works fine though.

(EMS Cart x 3 years usage) + Game Boy pocket = Undefinable corruption

yeah... looks good check out the track on here: http://www.milkcrate.com.au/unixmusic/UNiX/Contact.html

maybe for when the score board comes up

I think you should donate them to poor people

Am I able to do this with my ZX Spectrum +3? If so, what software am I able to use and whats recommended?

Also, what software am I able to use on floppy (i've made myself an external 3.5 disk drive)? I heard that I can only use SQ Tracker. And how can I format the floppy disk?

I'll be grateful if anyone can help as I know +3s arent as known about and this thread is over a month old.

Thanks

Yeah, I could do that smile

Awesome thread, I wish I could contribute, however I have none which aren't mentioned already.

Hey ChipMusic community... I heard it was much friendlier on this side of the internet tongue

Anyway, to the point....

Hi I'm UNiX, formally know as chip-monk, and basically I'm looking for somebody creative who would be able to create a front and back cover for an album which will hopefully be released before the end of this year for free download.

- The album will be called "The Boy Who Cried Wolf"

- It would be great if it has pixel art incorporated in it as the album is going to be pure gameboy, however I'll be grateful for any designs

- It will be released for free download although I will probably cheaply make 50 - 70 hard copies to sell at gigs and it might be on Spotify too (although royalties from Spotify are stupidly tiny)

- It would be great if you could do it for free, although I'll happily send you a hard copy cd in the post if you are in the UK, plus credit you on the back cover and online descriptions

Thats about it I think, any questions / replies can be on here or to my email address: chip-monk (at) musician (dot) org

Thanks for any replies
