I agree, this has been in heavy rotation for my since I downloaded it.

Also, got the editors up and running in max/live in under 5 minutes!

Lot's of work.

Both worth it IMO, just for control and tweakability.

Sorry! I didn't mean this is a flaw in GenMDM, far from it, parameters are power as Abrasive say's. It is just indicative of FM. I was trying to point out the differences between the number of things you need to adjust to make a patch and the number of things you are likely to tweak live, for genMDM or any other fm synth,

Downloaded at last!

Yeah, to make a sound on genMDM you probably need to send about 45ish midi CC commands but I would guess only 2 or 3 at most are going to need live tweaking?

You can get a free max trial here http://www.ableton.com/maxforlive or buy it for 167 bucks

Would people benefit from a quick video guide as to how to use the above two Live devices?

Also, there is a third one on it's way for global parameters.

do you mean "regional scenes sub forum" or "regional scene sub forums"? like, one sub forum for everyone? or one for each scene?

The former. Just a place for current and new threads pertaining to regional scenes like the above. I guess if the op wants to make a nice first post with links to local venues, artists pages etc they totally could. Per scene forums seems like overkill

hey... looking to borrow a power pak.. preferrably from someone local (philly) but anywhere will do - eirik (phlogiston) and i are working on a new project... a re-release of vegavox and color caves for people who do not own the carts (these were never available as sound files) with 6 bonus songs (this is actually the reason i need the power pak) - it will be a pay-download album... whoever lends me their power pak will definitely get a free copy... and i will pay for shipping it back and forth (if not local)

If you get stuck I can help but I live in Tokyo so shipping will take ages. Ping me if you get stuck though, I love your tunes!

Just an idea, but I have noticed a few very location centric threads pop up over the last couple of months which are not really wider community topics, nor are they gig announcements. From the last 2 or 3 months without looking very hard :

http://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/7332/ … anization/
http://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/7426/ … -kentucky/
http://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/7342/ … n-seattle/
http://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/5227/ … -together/
http://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/5589/ … -and-more/
http://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/6872/ … musicians/
http://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/6792/ … hip-scene/

I am sure there are more if I dig around a bit, any thoughts on collating them all to a single "regional scenes" subforum? It might help local scenes develop while keeping the rest of the forums of interest to the general readership.

Just an idea.

Also, its ok, my track is only 6 seconds long!
