Sorry, I didn't mean the stick for the touch screen. I meant the joystick/thumbpad thing!

Re: GP2X Caanoo (54 replies, posted in Other Vintage Computers & Consoles)
I know it is an uber necrobump but the thumbstick for my caanoo broke a while back and it is as a proprietary part. I haven't had any luck tracking one down and I am kind of loath to shell out 140 bucks to replace the unit for a 50 cent part....

Re: Conversation about the quality assesment of chipmusic (50 replies, posted in General Discussion)
Do you think everyone has an equally valid opinion on if music is good or bad? I think you can have a totally valid opinion on if you like music or not but good or bad seem to require a bit more authority. Music isn't an exact science, but neither for example is history. I want someone to have at least a vague grasp of ancient Rome before I was expected to take their opinions on the merits of Libby over Herodotus seriously.
Likewise if someone isn't able to agree a concert pianist with 30 years experience is a better musician than a pianist with 1 week of lessons is "better", does their opinion have merit?

Hey Shiru, I have a question, VGM maker seems to behave a bit differently to what I expected based on this datasheet
http://www.smspower.org/maxim/Documents/YM2612
This is an old link but is the sheet wrong? Specifically algorithms 3, 4 and 6 seem different? Do you have a more up to date datasheet or did you do your own research?
Thanks man, VGM maker rules!

Also, I'm convinced that some people start threads just so they can have input from others to refute. Don't be one of those people.
You are just cranky cause he don't know who you are.

Re: Chipmusic Around the World calendar (28 replies, posted in Upcoming Events)
An excellent idea. Might I be so bold as to suggest a country / city / event name convention ie
US, PHL, 8static
JP, TOK, Cheapbeats
UK, LIV, CDK presents
There is a wealth of juicy info on the calendar but I can't see how much of it is useful to me without clicking on every event.

Apparently sebs interface is pretty damn chokeproof. I have used 7 of 9 channels with no strange behaviour. I wonder how it will deal with lots of rt custom wave fiddling though

So where are all the good break samples?
Or how about break tutorials?
