If we are back on track I have a few comments. Based on what I remember of the thread there seems to be a plan for DSC to go into at least small scale production with this via kickstarter.

Stuff I like :

Unified back panel with Audio and Midi IO in one place looks great.

Unified PSU?

Stuff im not so keen on :

Philosophically, this seems like a large, not portable, expensive way to solve a problem that already has small, portable cheap solutions. I don't quite get the point? However if it is a personal vanity project for fun it is AWESOME.

Are you planning on having a cut off with your kick starter? Could you handle 20 or 50 or 100 orders?

What are you planning for after sales support? There seem to be an awful lot of things end users could have trouble with here.

As was raised earlier I think the interface / access to the internal carts / dials / buttons needs a fairly big re think.

I remember using my DMG with a PSU being impractically  noisy is this going to be an issue?

Ideas, have you thought about a kick starter for an enclosure and a PSU with all the nice plugs and a nice (re thought) control surface with a nice detailed BOM and build guide? Then people could build the arduinos and source the carts, backlights, gameboys (none of which are particularly hard to find) and it would keep the project cheaper, easier and faster for you to produce?

Can't you stand by what you say?
I call for the original content, for the sake of posterity.

Agreed, Destructive forum edits are highly uncool.

I did a bunch of Nanoloop 2.3 tutorials which was SUPER fun. I would love to see some DS10 ones.

To the best of my knowledge the USB adapter only works with 1.6? Also Im guessing buying 1.6 new is likely to be cheaper than looking for 1.2 - 1,5 second hand.

I think he is using 2 different versions of tns hardware (http://www2s.biglobe.ne.jp/~tns/) . The are kind nsf playback carts, where you take your NSF from famitracker or your MML compiler and put it on and SD card, put the cart on the TNS device and play it. They are the same things Hally uses but I think slightly newer versions.

The TNS modules, or the later ones at least, have slots for carts which use the sound expansion chips, Im guessing he is using quite a lot of VRC7 and FME-7 as he is a pretty huge FM fan but the dude is a total MML wizard, so he is probably using most of the expansion chips but I don't THINK FDS as he doesnt appear to have an FDS unit there?

you could try getting some internet radio play somewhere like noisechannel on http://areciboradio.com/

Also I think you should have it available on every possible streaming / download site for free of pay what you want, Last FM/bandcamp/reverb nation etcas well as CD baby etc.

Edit - you could also try and get it included as a bonus on something like the indie royale bundle. I think _ensnare_ and George&Johnathan both did that.

Also gig like a mother fucker and give your CD away.

You fuckers keep your tropical island paradise I like my rainy rock in the bitter north sea.

Also ??? has some good SID tunes which are a bit different

Oh... wow. This is awkward...

You did see that a condition of entry is the ability to skull a pint and sing the Australian national anthem backwards yeah?...

Drink a pint of watery beer and say "god i wish I was English" ten times backwards? No problem!

Just booked my workshop places!

Nice find. And it is awesome to hear him still so passionate about his tunes.

I wrote an FAQ here a while ago about the differences between the two. It is a bit out of date but you might want to give it a look.
