I know Kitsch has his own thread but I wanted to highlight this specific item.

A while back, I wrote a zine about how to make music with LSDJ. At the time, I felt there were very few LSDJ tutorials online and that none of them really tried to talk about the whole program. I'm referring to stuff like Sabrepulse's beginners tutorial ( which is how I taught myself ). At the time, I enjoyed googling for hours and finding neat tricks in different forum threads but I knew most people would prefer to have this info compiled in one place. So I set out to make a zine that would address all this, that I could give to the people who came to my shows and wanted to learn more about Gameboy music.

Last time Kitsch carried these, they sold out in a day. Most of you guys know all the stuff in this but it would be awesome if you could maybe point other people to it as a way to get started. It's honestly the kind of book I wish had been available when I started out.

I can say that when I was a newbie, I had nothing but positive experiences when meeting people who were "famous" within the scene. Everyone was super friendly, positive, and generally awesome to talk to. Because of that, I do my very best to keep that same thing going when talking to people who are new to the scene at shows and whatnot

again, this is my exact experience. when i was a "noob", i would email the people whose music i liked and without exception, they were all extremely helpful, gracious, patient, and just generally awesome.

actually, i've only had one negative experience actually with some one who was "famous in the scene" but it wasn't even that bad.

i think most of the "established chip artist" vs. "chip noob" drama on here is about people being annoyed that other people don't use google before posting new threads.

So I got my new prosound in today after about a month and abit from America and it looks fine, it projects fine, it's all in one piece. But, the sound coming out of it seems to pan about 90% all the way to the right through my speakers. The lad who sold it me said it's probably something like shards of metal getting stuck in the chamber and can be fixed easily with a soldering iron. Good, so I have the cause of the problem and the inevitable solution

My question is has anyone had a similar issue or would know what to do so I can be told? I have no idea and I'm definitely not breaking this one. Not after the 932674736 others

Someone for the love of god get back to me

the guy won't fix it for you?

Ok so the title pretty much sums it all up, i got a used LSDJ cartridge and I want to start with a blank canvas, how do I do that?

go to the project screen, go to load / save song, go to "delete", and then delete the songs one at a time.

all the answers to these kinds of questions are in the manual.

wow this stuff is cool!
i still dont know how to do this without breaking the headers hmm

just don't messwith the very beginning of the file. if you use audacity, you should be able to see how the first few bytes of audio look different from the rest. don't change those and you should be good.

Don't think one time I used the words "stealing" or "steal" or "stole" or "stolen" but if you wanna put words in my mouth that's up to you. There's a difference between putting your name on somebody else's work and writing your music so it sounds just like somebody else's work.. not sure which one is more shameful.

I think you're getting awfully defensive for somebody who has done nothing wrong.. and I'm almost certain that I've seen you be accused of jocking on IAYD's style in the past.

If you want specific examples, I could probably find the time to compare your melodies, instruments, and progressions to ones IAYD has used.. I'm gonna go ahead and guess that you wouldn't want me to do that though hmm

you're really not coming off well in this exchange dude.

Just uploaded this, thought you guys might think it was neat!

While browsing the VHS section of a local thrift store recently, a green tape caught my eye. Palm trees covered the box and in big letters it said "ENTER THE JUNGLE... NOV 21" with a small picture of Donkey Kong holding the Nintendo logo. I was very intrigued and couldn't resist the $1 price tag. I brought it home and watched it immediately. Needless to say, I was blown away.

Stick around till the very end for a nice post credits tease of another upcoming game from Nintendo!

Around the 4:00 mark, they show a "prototype board" that might be of interest to some of the gear heads here.
