Re: LSDJSNG Swap (25 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
Is someone who doesn't know anything about LSDJ going to really get much out of looking at other peoples .savs though? When I was first writing music with LSDJ, I cared more about reading the manual and figuring out what everything did before looking at other peoples songs, because it confused me without having a bit of context. I think sites like this are actually more useful for teaching people who already know a bit about LSDJ different tricks and stuff like that. Just my opinion though.
i wouldn't recommend looking at people's savs to someone who is just starting out with lsdj.
but for someone who has just started to program simple songs, it can be an amazingly valuable experience.

for fucking reals. I would kill ghandi for this
that one website converts sav files to html. i feel like if you can do that, then a gbs converter should be easy!

Re: Graphic Novels (46 replies, posted in General Discussion)
Torso by Brian Michael Bendis, a "true crime" style series (collected into a standalone trade paperback) about the Cleveland Torso Murderer. I loved it. Gave my copy to a friend who I thought would love it, with the intention of buying another copy for myself later, never got around to it. I should do that.
torso is a seriously incredible book.

Re: Lightwall: Concept for VJ oriented NES rom (353 replies, posted in Nintendo Consoles)
I could make swastikas but I won't. I fucking HATE Nazis, fascism, racists, and ignorant people. I totally don't believe in the supremacy of an Aryan race and I feel that all Nazis don't even deserve the right to live after what they've done to this world and its people. I can't argue that a swastika makes for powerful imagery but it is the symbol that represents an oppressive, hateful, and evil group of people that I wish never existed. I hope you don't have Nazi beliefs Heosphoros. Please think before you suggest something stupid. I WON'T MAKE SWASTIKAS FOR LITEWALL OR SCHUTZSTAFFEL INSIGNIA OR ANY OTHER FORM OF NAZI IMAGERY. If you really want swastikas in Litewall you should figure out how to make them yourself. Any other suggestions?
american flags.

Re: I ADDED A PSONE SCREEN TO MY NES. (20 replies, posted in Nintendo Consoles)
Nice! I was actually thinking of doing this, as opposed to just screwing it on ala Anamanaguchi. This should be helpful!
if you ever have any questions, i'd gladly help out as much as i could.

You should change the lighting to LED instead of the tube it comes from. It will consume MUCH LESS and live longer.
i'll definitely do this before i make it run off batteries.

Topic: I ADDED A PSONE SCREEN TO MY NES. (20 replies, posted in Nintendo Consoles)
so, i've been using a MIDINES live for a while but have just gotten in to famitracker and using the NES to play back the nsf files and all that. but in order to navigate my powerpak, i'd need to bring some sort of tv to shows and that's pretty lame, i think. so i decided to build the screen into the NES itself.
i'm really happy with how it's come out. next step is to install a lithium ion battery for it to run off of so i don't even need to plug it in. and then potentiometers for the three sound outputs. i also want to install a video/sound input so you could plug other things into it and use the screen for other stuff too.
here's some pictures of the process -

Will Pulsar feature a sync option?
When reading the "10 Blargg Bootstrap USB Cartridge" thread it sounds as if it's possible to achieve via a game port.
i asked neil about this in another thread -

this doesnt look like there's any latency problems at all. watch that first video. especially the part where he plays the hi hat thing.
using this with midi nes and an arduinoboy with mgb would be pretty sick.
