My name is on there! Pumped!
I cannot express how crazy excited I am to see everyone on that list live! Head asplode.
For those who don't know, Galaxy Wolf is the rebranded Team Toothpaste, so we can get our Wubs on hard.

I've recently been really intrigued by Amiga music.
I can't tell if this thread is interesting or intimidating.
I think I'll do emulators for awhile.
One thing that's daunting: there are a bajillion versions of Protracker (Version 2.1a, version 3.X, etc.). Is there a preferred version? And is there a good tutorial for that version? (assuming there are big differences between versions...) That is to say, if I want to learn on emulator, with the option to buy hardware down the road, what is the best route to take?
Did anyone say peer - dances EP? that one is very happy
also anamanaguchi obv.
Dances is one of my all-time faves! However, not all of it is happy, and some sections may be considered a bit...um, challenging...by some listeners. I'd say most of the tracks are not tracks to cook to or ride a bike to, haha.
That could just be me though. It's still one of the best chip releases of all time, imho.
I'd recommend The Famicon Session by Misfit Chris. It's a ball of joy.
Really great Auxcide! Huge sounds.
Not sure if this has been announced, but I believe BRKfest is the weekend of August 3rd in Lexington.
Sounds like July and August is going to be chiptastic!

jai paul haha, that shit is funny. he blatantly uploaded that leak himself i reckon. sounded like it was mixed on a jbl boombox from the 90's haha. i mean there's demo's and then there's that production lol SIDECHAIIIINZZZ
lolol. Yeah, Jai Paul sidechained his sidechains to some sidechains.
Super thanks to Wailord for pointing out the new Cats jam.
Cats is like the most un-google-able name possible. C'mon guys, pick names people can search. I'm going to start a band and name it Spoon.
I think Cats is the chip alter-ego of Jai Paul.

Thanks much!
My harddrive died last year and I lost a bunch of music, including Dusty Garage Joints. Anyone have a download link? Can't find one.
if I'm at all remembered in the scene when I eventually go away it will most likely be for Chipthrash and not happy stuff like "Game Boy Rock". Put a lot less work into the chipthrash tho, to be honest.
I like your older, more melodic work a lot more. But I'm a melody guy.
re: the topic. By the time I started writing chip I was very comfortable with my music composition abilities, so I still enjoy my older chiptunes. My programming skills have improved, but I still like the melodies and chord progressions of my older stuff.
Never hear this Saskrotch track before. I like it a lot. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!
I've never wanted to learn LGPT more than after listening to this. Seriously great!
I have a Sampletrak. It's a lot of fun and imparts a gritty lo-fi-ish quality to samples. I've never used a 303, but the Sampletrak is easy to use.
i know i just saved enough for the new MS20 mini as well!
*sigh* Same here.
Dammit Korg, stop making reasonably priced things I want!
Have you guys considered moving Rochester to Northern Alabama?
Doesn't Roboctopus sample guitar chords in one of his songs?
I do!

I recorded myself playing the chord progression, chopped it up, compressed the hell out of it, EQ'd, etc, and loaded the samples into LSDJ.
It's pretty noisy, but they do play in tune. I just think of them as a little more punk. I use some piano chords on another track on that EP.
If you're cool with bitcrushy fuzz, then sampled chords work. But it takes a lot of EQ/tweaking to get them to sound okay. They're really fun to use R and P commands on.
