Hmm, certainly some usable ones here, maybe try to stray away a bit from joke/novelty type stuff, and less specific titles, but mostly I would really just appreciate as many ideas as possible, so keep them coming...Subway, I like your countries/cities idea, could you possibly give me 5 cities/countries?

No novelty ideas?!?  sad

How about natural/weather phenomena:

1. Sun Pillars
2. Fog
3. St. Elmo's Fire
4. Will-o'-the-wisp
5. Rain

I guess that's good, tongue

edit: roboctopus, yours was great, did you sneak in Bit Shifter?

Sneak in Bit Shifter?  Maybe my 3/4 section is a little Bit-Shifter-esque where the harmonies come in?  *shrug*  It wasn't intentional big_smile

Good entries this week!  Kommisar's is kinda mind-blowing!  Jredd, I think that's my favorite of your 1-bit stuff.  Octothorpe, kewl play on the start-up sound; but my fave part of yours was toward the end.

Now I gotta figure out how to program a buncha reverse sounds...

[I deleted the song because I made a new version.  Thanks for the suggestions!]

I've been working on this track for awhile, specifically to mix LSDJ with my cheapo Spanish guitar.  I'm pretty pleased with it, but I keep picking at the mix, or deleting little parts, or adding little parts, so I'd like some feedback.

Specifically, is the guitar solo section too sparse?  Sometimes I like the sort of sparseness of that section, and sometimes I think it could use something, but I don't want to make it too busy.

And are the levels ok?  I don't want th guitar to be overpowered (or overpower).

Any other CC is welcome, but those are the areas I'm focusing on.  Any thoughts?

I'd totally be down for any number of things, I'd love to take a shot at this when the time comes smile. I'm totally pumped to try my hand at a nice battle theme smile. Of course there are multiple types of battles in RPG's. You've got your normal battles, boss battles, and of course last boss battle! But no seriously, I'm fairly versatile and so are the rest of us tongue. So whatever ideas we come up with I'm sure any of us could fit the bill nicely. big_smile

Good points.  You also would need to specify time period for an RPG comp.  If not, I'd b just as likely bust out some guitar and flute and make Chrono Cross style music, haha.  We'd probably have to say "Pre-1996 RPG music".

<_<

>_>

*Goes off to listen to Chrono Cross's opening theme.*

With my billion year backround in Progressive and Melodic Death Metal...I'm calling dibs on "Melancholy"

Let's not worry about it right now though.  When the time comes I'll set it all up (with input of course) and we can have at it.

Also, hard lol at "Hero you didn't expect to die music"

In response, I was about to call dibs on Naive Love Interest Theme when I realized something: you should have a challenge that forces people to compose in a genre that's the total opposite of what they normally do.

You know what would be really awesome if we ever amassed enough songs/members in the future? Like, an RPG styled album! Town theme, Cave/Dungeon Theme, Forrest Theme, Battle Theme, Boss Battle theme ect. (You get the idea)! With everyone and their different strengths as composers combined I am sure we could find a setting suitable to everybody's natural writing style and really showcase what each of us can do! Thoughts? big_smile

Awesome idea Jredd!  I'd like to do maybe Melancholy, Haunted Cave Theme or Funeral of the Hero You Didn't Expect to Die music!

Or, you know, Forest Music would be cool.  RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG RPG

I've been out of town and away from computers since Saturday.  Just now listened to the deaf jam entries.  They were surprisingly awesome!  2PLAYER's was some legit chiptuneage and 8 Bit Rex's was bad ass creepy.  Mine, on the other hand, is like 4 unconnected really short songs jammed together, haha.  This challenge was fun.  I hope I can cram in some time to do the next one.

This was actually informative.  I don't know how to solder, and I don't know anyone who does, but I've been meaning to learn.  I think I'll give it a go.  Thanks for the inspirational link.

Is really not that hard, you just keep attention to not fry anything tongue

I tried to solder a loose connection in a Big Muff pedal a few years back with a borrowed soldering iron.  I fried a few things, (pedal and skin included, haha).  I've been scared to try again every since.  But I would really like to mod my gameboys.

how cool that they lay it out like a comic book.

Anything you can learn from a comic book is worth learning.

Anything.
