oh cool, I did email the [email protected] address to get on the list a few weeks ago but didn't get any update and now the site says May instead of April, maybe the production got delayed though..

I might order either a second 2.7 cart or a 1 cart if they're still available by the time the usb-midi device is available again.. that said though LSDJ is providing me with a lot of ideas at the moment so maybe a team of LSDJ on a DMG and NL2.7 on GBA micro synced with some kind of spliced sync cable would be a good way to go..

looks like it's available again (and 1 is available to pre-order).. strangely I didn't get an email about it!

I really should have ordered the usb-midi adapter. Didn't realise that I might have to back it up sometimes!

wow they look great! I only got my first DMG about a week ago (just black with white buttons) but I'm already considering getting another one to mod. ARGH I can tell it's gonna be an expensive hobby!

That's clearly a stock DMG and everyone knows it's impossible to do any LSDJ work unless your DMG is customized.

Not if you're Hillary "don't need no fkn prosound coz my wav channel kicks are bangin' enough already" Clinton..

I prefer the GBA version. Of course, you don't have as many channels to play with (and they're a lot more limited in terms of sound and polyphony), but for live use, the pattern switching is better (e.g. you can mix patterns from different songs). Plus, using actual physical buttons to control it seems a bit more natural for some reason (to me at least).

Oh yeah, the chord/unison mode of the S channel pretty much kicks ass. Very awesome for funky chorusy basslines, especially when you start changing the filter/LFO/env parameters per step.

Did I read something about you possibly going again this year? I am, so I guess I'll see you at ninja again if you are!

This is such a good idea, and really excellent tracks from both!

As someone who has dabbled in both post-rock and chiptunes I could probably do either side, haha. I think I might attempt a band version of some local chip music.. oh wait we already kinda did that with Square Tony & The Arps, but hey.

Oh yes! Voyage Voyage is a great song, and it's a great cover too. I actually originally found out about it because my upstairs neighbour played it really loud one morning and I was able to pick it up using Soundhound tongue

No wave tables, and the arp is just fixed speed, 4 notes (with rests and one-shot mode). I might actually pick up a 1 cartridge at some point—I'm getting a DMG this week so it'd be cool to sync 1 and 2!

I haven't played with 1 much, but I think I prefer 2; it can sound a lot more 'creamy'/less typically chippy, cf.:

Yeah, same. I used iOS nanoloop for a while but I much prefer the GBA version, so once I got a gameboy micro I pretty much stopped using my phone to write music!

PixiTracker maybe?

Hey guys, I know I don't post here very often, but I thought a few of you might be interested in my new album.

https://pselodux.bandcamp.com/album/ace-of-space

9 tracks, 73 minutes; equal parts analog/digital hardware and Renoise. A bit of a turn from the demoscene/amiga styles of Titan—this time it's more in the realm of IDM with a bit of skweee and a few other microgenre influences here and there. Gets a bit dark towards the end!

It was awesome to meet you, and everyone else. Also good to know you got back home alright, after the drunken night/morning at Ninja, haha!
