I have got the same problem with a mgb right now, just backlit it. ( white, and quite a pain) every damn pixel is alive but unresponsive besides changing tone in different screens (Kirby for testing)

A 1/8" to 1/4" adapter is like $3 at radio shack, and it makes hooking the gameboy up to amps and what not really simple. Cheap and easy. Pro-sound if your not satisfied with the stock output in your situation.

Slightly off topic...What about the RCA Mark II Sound Synthesizer? Born in the late 50's from vaccum tubes, It is the great ancestor of all synths, trackers, and computer music. Not only did it use punch cards, but had to write it's sounds on shellac records, just to hear it!

I'll be sitting on my hands for the info, so far the blippers this year are mum about it. Sounds awesome so far though, and I am sure I will have more questions later.

I've got 2 pockets. One with a camera constantly in it, and another for daylight tracking and games (backlit dmg is a little tough to read in the daylight.) I second the opinion that it is awesome due to it's pocket size.

So what is the deal with quint? Read the interview with Kitsch on Noise Channel. Does it just work with Gameboys? The mystery is racking my brain.

my only gripe about the cart is when it is in a dmg and I want it out, but my fingers are too greasy.

nah don't sweat it, if it is your first time, go at the speed of molasses, with a fresh blade, and have a backup. besides the extra parts are an upside, cases to paint, extra screen cover, and since biverting and pitch mods are done on the mother board, I've got extra to mess with. Still havent done any pockets yet.

yes and no. Freque over at 8bc made it. after a second look the only page I can find is this one:
http://tinycartridge.com/post/110081746 … -by-freque
the rest are dead and I'll be damned if the build page is lost for good. shame, but still good to know

sad, very very sad.
I ship rubber dicks and canned cat food to lonely shut-ins around the globe.
I shoot film, and build models and monsters.
not sad

Word of advice, stick a piece of white paper behind the LCD and if it still appears to be that infamous shade of green (or greenish tint), you haven't peeled both layers off.

wow I did not know that, which explains why my inverted screen is normal. which is alright with me

The Gut Wrenching Saga Ends! 3rd try and it came out perfect, sardine roller kitsch suggested worked well, foil still went silly, but looks pretty nice. normal polarization blue led3 and pepto buttons. It's a good day today.

you want something neato? Make your first copy, than dub it over an old thrift shop mix tape, one that has labels on labels if you can. The sounds will get kinda washy and warbly. This his will be heavier and you may get some of the old sound "leaking." That beat up tape can add some charm and dub the rest from that copy. Or you can hook the tunes to an amp in a bathroom or hallway and record it to cassette with a cheap mic, make it grungy with natural reverb. do a couple of experiments and see what you like.

What problems might there with Super Gameboy?

I just found out that nanoloop 1.6.3 does not work with the Super Gameboy, not even with the mega memory card as a pass through, on the light side the "hello" and "mega mem" messages do show up right underneath the cart with an X. Cannot understand why those charming messages freeze what is essentially a dmg in a different shell ? I wonder if any one using an sgb cpu in a dmg has any issues? Still awesome though, and works with everything else.

this is an old link but this fellow says the dc regulator in the nes is good up to 12V that you can even disregard the polarity. I say its time to bust out the multimeter and get to the bottom of it.
