i have that already on my GB. I have set MIDIOUT on lsdj settings but what channel does PU1 PU2, WAV and NOI use? and when i simply add for example a C3 note in the phrase it does nothing on my c64. C64 is set to receive MIDI and locks on to the clock sent from LSDJ when set to master so I know the midi connection is being read by the c64.

thanks :-)

Hi

I have myself one of the XIWI arduinoboy's and a dmg with the latest (paid for) version of LSDJ. I am wanting to be able to control my Commodore 64 (initially MSSIAH) with LSDJ using the midi out function of the arduinoboy.

I have connected the arduinoboy to the dmg and set the midi mode of the arduino to LSDJ Master. How do I trigger a simple MIDI note to be SENT from LSDJ?

I read somewhere you needed to add an 'N' command to the note to send it out of via MIDI. is this true? If so, the command list on my LSDJ jumps from 'M' to 'O' so am confused as to where to start. A newbie when it comes to setting up the arduinoboy and LSDJ for MIDI so any help would be appreciated.

I have read and searched a lot online and can not find the answers to m questions but excuse me if I have missed it!

Cheers.

I only found out about this cool device couple days ago. Though if you go on his website you can pre order one. I paid and have been told they are due to be assembled and speed within 3 weeks. I simply can not wait, it looks like an awesome bit of kit!

fair enough, I will check out Sid Wizard, currently just using Mssiah. Can Sid Wizard use paddle or potentiometer controls to effect the sid in real time like mono synthesiser on Mssiah?

Cheers.

can't wait to try this! Does SFX mean samples to? cuz that would be amazing to include. I know some trackers have managed a 4th channel of samples with the 8580 SIDs, and that'd make this the end all be all for SID trackers for me to learn. Too bad I can't stick this on my MSSIAH cart and just use that midi port.

they're now up to 4 channels of samples + 2 SID channels:

wow this is ace!

any idea if it the tracker can be downloaded?

I have tried all of the above regarding standard version and using midi and slave settings.

I have tried all settings on the arduinoboy but none of them produce a flashing led with the midi clock. Whe  you first turn on the arduinoboy is it just one press of the button to get to the correct mode for slave use?

thanks

Hi everyone

I have recently borrowed an arduinoboy off a friend who has successfully used it in the past.

I am having trouble simply syncing my alesis hr16 drum machine and my game boy. All I wish to do is have the game boy as a slave and stay in time with the alesis HR16 internal clock.

I know the midi out/clock of the hr16 is fine as it has sync'd with my Commodore 64 and MSSIAH with no problems. I am using the arduinoboy version of LSDJ (have tried both versions)  and have set the sync on LSDJ to SLAVE. I Have set the arduinoboy to SLAVE mode too.

I press start on LSDJ and it says wait, but then when the HR16 is started there is nothing from the GB.

ANY noob issues that I should be aware of or pointers to help me out?

Cheers!

I have just bought a clone arduino. I read that sometimes they can be rubbish in terms of solder pads lifting but I thought I would take the chace as it was so cheap. May regret it but has anyone else any experience using the pro mini or a clone to make an arduinoboy?

is it the same pinout as shown on the diagram on the instructables website?

Did you get this to work with arduino mini?

did this get released?

frustrated to say I have still not worked out this issue. Just realised you can update the firmware on the sd2iec and i was running one that was well out of date. annoyingly the latest firmware installed and still i can not save mono synth project files on mssiah to my sd card.

anyone have any ideas? or how are other people saving their files on their c64?!

Hi

When I put the sd card in to my pc the project files from MSSIAH Mono synth are on there and named correctly in the .P64 format. When I use the disk management tool on MSSIAH to view the files on the SD they are simply listed as un-named(Blank) files that have a size of 11 blocks.

Why mono synth does not see the files when trying to open them though I really do not understand....

Hi everyone

I have been using MSSIAH for a while with a SD2IEC and have had no problems with it saving and loading. However I have just started using monosynth rather than sequencer and though it lets me export and import patterns and patches it does not allow me to save my project in mono synth. It goes through the motions as if it is saving but then when you try and open it it states 'no files'.

Any ideas?

Hi

It seems as though my 8580R5 has died :-(

I'm not sure why or how but wondering if anyone has a spare for sale?

Cheers, Tom

i have been playing about with this all morning/last night. i think unfortunately you may be right. i have now managed to get an image on screen when this 8580 is fitted but when using mssiah audio diagnostics it produces no sound. If I apply a little bit of pressure on the top of the sid with the plastic handle of a screw driver it crackles and pops.

annoyingly i have just come to realise that the swinSID does not seem to allow potentiometer control as the readouts jump about all over the place when that chip is in place but are steady when the 8580 is. damn.

Hi

I have an original 8580 chip as well as a SwinSID for the C64C. When I have the original chip in the single socket on the motherboard the C64 does not output any VIDEO, no picture whatsoever. When I either have no SID installed or the SwinSID it turns on fine. The last time I used the C64 about 3 months ago it was fine with the 8580 chip.

Anyone have any ideas/pointers?

Cheers, Tom
