Can I sync NL to LSDJ using a GBA and the Gamecube Gameboy Player? I've got them gamelinked cable connected, nanoloop set to external sync, LSDJ set to 'Nano' but when I hit start on LSDJ the nanoloop doesn't respond. Is Nanoloop supposed to start automatically running?
My biggest concern is that I was about to buy a midi sync to use with the gameboy player and if the player isn't compatible I'll be SOL.

i could build midi into your gamecube player if you like?

i sell arduino kits, they are actually very popular, shame they barely make enough money to restock the parts

i made a bad ass 1.5 amp power supply that makes sure the gameboy has all the power it needs. i was thinking of making a bench power supply from an old computer power supply and putting a few gameboy plugs on that

i put a poll up on this page: http://store.kitsch-bent.com/product/custom-buttons

so, you all get to have your say.  i get a bunch of e-mails with requests for certain colors.  so, vote, you can once per day...

thanks!

black and green tongue i think you should do all the play it loud colours first

i updated the first post with info about a new product:

new buttons, better buttons, machine-cast buttons, cheaper buttons.  goodgoodgood

NeX, these are a little better than the set you got, imo.  the clear isn't as clear (its more milky-ish), but they look much better, and feel great...

awesome, i will be buying a set when the money comes in! can you do a clear pocket set? i could really do with some

i hope Scienceguy doesn't mind me stepping into his shoes here, but i sell arduinoboys, if people still want them and Scienceguy is done with building them, then mail me: Ralph (dot) nex (at) gmail (dot) com

Please indicate prices on items you are selling, if you are tying to see what you can get for it use an auction site like ebay.

Are there other practical benefits other than a faster boot?

well, its silent too, meaning you don't have to turn down the volume when plugged into a live set, and if you are really clever there is a way to get it to trigger a super gameboy to boot without a CPU,

but yea, the main advantage is the fast boot, which is pretty much instant, you turn on your gameboy and LSDJ is on the screen

hi all,

i am starting to sell some stuff, this it mainly a test to see if this is worth doing again,

what i have done is taken a DMG motherboard and removed the CPU and then replaced it with one from a super gameboy, the result is a very quick and silent boot up.

once you have seen how quick it boots you will realise just how slow the nintendo logo scrolls. this mod is such a nice touch that i now do it to all the gameboys i make for myself.

as this is a test to see how well it will sell, i am open to offers, send me a message at:

ralph (dot) nex (at) gmail (dot) com

also i can build this into a gameboy or what ever you want, just let me know and we can work something out smile

nice one, looks pretty neat, now don't go knocking it off when you put it back in the case

EDIT: thanks scienceguy8. I've searched all over the chipternets, so any 10k resistor will do?

EDIT: so, if it make contact with both sides of the pcb path i guess it'll do.

any 10k resistor will do, but an SMD resistor will look nicer, cut a bit out of your case next time so it doesn't knock it off.

if you don't have a multimeter then i think the 10k SMD resistors are marked as 310 but don't quote me on that, you can harvist them from a lot of old broken boards, if like me you have that kinda stuff lying around

NeX, i'd love to help however i'm able smile  just get in touch if you need aid in any way...

just be aware that the free version of eagle is limited to 2-layers.  and the size is limited as well, although i'm not sure to what... (never had it tell me i'm too big)

thanks very much! can i get your email or do you want to PM for it?

2 layers is fine because i don't think my brain can handle more! though if eagle is good maybe its worth buying? and if it can handle a PCB maybe the size of a...hmm like a gamecube? something about that big? then thats perfect!

i like where this is going, but there are sooo many good ideas from people here, but just not enough room on the board. i think it may need a front PCB redesign as well which has things like pitch bend, and crystals, possibly even a couple of arduinos for future modifications.

Kitsch, i am very tempted to take you up on that offer of PCB design, i know nothing about it and i have a big project that i need to build, so its going to be a bumpy learning curve!

if you are willing to work together, i can give you a rough design of an LCD PCB that would include a pocket screen, maybe a second arduino for RGB control or other things,

i have no experience with designing circuit boards, so i will just be drawing it out by hand and you would have to do the digital version.

like i said before, this is great work, i think if you can loose the bootloader header and maybe fit some extra big SMD caps too, i will try and get that arduino code tested,
