looks like you got the wrong midi socket on the gameboy, the left side of the gameboy is midi in.

I know, dude. They're in pretty high demand.

I'll send you an email on the details about my device. In the meantime definitely let me know about they stock arduinoboys (unless you can build an arduinoboy that supports two gameboys simultaneously), I'll buy them from the "noise channel shop" if I have to, lol.

i recently built an arduinoboy that works with two gameboys at the same time, so yea i can do that no problem and that would have to be a custom job as all the ones i am working on now are just for one gameboy.

i am trying to find some more 4 player adapters so i can build some more, but if you have one or can get one, i can knock that off the price and make you something custom without affecting the stuff i am doing for stock.

Actually Nex, you were gonna be my next stop. I wasn't sure that you made them by themselves though. Definitely put me down for one, and shoot me an email when they're done.

Also, I might send you some stuff on a custom arduinoboy later, if you're interested.

i do like custom stuff so if you are after a custom arduinoboy that would be a lot of fun to make. at the moment i am building these arduinoboys as stock for the noise channel shop, but unfortunately people keep coming and buying them! its making it difficult to have any stock ready.

thanks, i am glad you liked it smile

I sell arduinoboys, kits and midi gameboys, i am currently doing a batch of about 8 arduinoboys right now, hopefully they will be finished by the end of today.

thanks for the props smile glad you are having fun with it!

i have been selling kits and pre built arduinoboys for ages, i am just crap at advertising

The lighting on the first black gameboy, is there a reference or a tut for that?

which bit?

awesome work! it looks great all set up like that, as for the code, its really nothing much more complex than the arduino LED fade tutorial, i changed the curve of the fade to be more logarithmic and then there is the reset part at the beginning, but generally its very simple. if i had had more time to work on the project i would have used a digital pot and made it midi controllable

i worked out a way to fix it which would be adding a transflective layer to the back of the LCD but the problem is i have no idea where to get it from and it seems to cost a stupid amount of money. i was going to have a go with some mirror tinting film for car windows, but i cant get at it at the moment.

i saw a post on 8bc about this
apparently you can get really cheapo ipod screen covers that do the job !!

thanks for that, i will have to give it a try

there is no extra wiring needed its a straight swap, but you need decent soldering skills.

how did you do this?  is there a link to a tutorial? 8-)

yep here is the tutorial:

unsolder DMG CPU,
solder in SGB CPU
