Who will write a new tracker for the frankenchip cart?

Yo. I'll give it a go if anybody else is... I don't think I could tackle this alone!

Sick, more aussie chip dudes! The scene needs more of us.
I'm Chainsaw, I've been around since early 2011-ish, and I write face-melting bass music for your ears (or other orifices if you so feel like it).

unrelated to your question, i have an older guitar pedal that uses a 1/4" jack for power.

Not too unrelated, that's proof that it works!

On the same note, I think older iPod Shuffles used a 1/8" cable for data transfer (from my memory. I might be wrong).
Either way, it sounds like it'd work, in logic.

I think it would be easier for me to just modify it for you.

Say I want something, and I want it right now. I think it would be easier if I do it myself, no offense.

Besides, I've always wanted to dive into simple romhacking, and a tutorial from you would certainly make that easier (unless you're worried about getting run out of business!)

How do you even use that thing? It's a mess of a program.

I do something similar but different to "clean-up" LSDJ's graphics with my LSDJ+ patches.

Most of you have probably already heard this before but I'll say it again just in case,

If you want something extra special/custom all you need to do is ask politely, my services are free of charge for "good" requests.

Serious requests only, please.

These custom fonts more or less clutter the interface more for me. I don't like them; I stick with the Kiko or the default fonts on LSDJ, as they're plain, simple and to-the-point, of decorative flourishes or other things.
I'd stick with the already-posted b&w rom, looking nice! It'll e good for low-light situations and times when perhaps someone's using it on their big TV with an sgb and snes. I can see plenty of practical uses!

SurfaceDragon, you just can't stop plugging your rom thing, can't ya? tongue

Edit: I didn't read all the way down the thread you linked to, I like how you crisped up the default fonts and took off those faint edges, looks neat! Although the clunky decorative fonts detract from it; they almost cancel each other out!

This could be fucking amazing if someone can get around to developing a cart and software for it. I'd be wayyyy more than happy to pay whatever it costs to buy one.
You could get some really nice sounds going on with both soundchips going at once! My only gripe is that the power and memory/processing requirements would be out of the DMG's league.

But nonetheless

Well, I believe we can tune the noise channel in octaves and fifths. Pythagorean scale, anyone?

Really? I didn't know this happened, cool!

I always find it works if you try and make single drum hits with your mouth (this is also helpful for pulse stuff too). Then slow it down while you do it and think about what you are doing to make that sound. You'll find that you're also filtering by opening and closing your mouth, but, think about how you are pitching the sound vocally. Also think about the envelope you are creating. Then play around and see how it sounds if you start pitching it differently - what happens if you just "sweep" it up? What if you increase the length of time you sweep up before going down again?
Then you can apply this knowledge to your noise channel instrumentation.

Woah, good idea! Never thought of it that way tongue
