True, but I don't see a problem in calling it "1-bit music" if the song only uses one bit of the 4-bit soundchip's hardware.

8 bits CPU but 16 volume values for each channel.
I believe it's a 4-bit machine; 2^4 = 16 levels
If you only use one volume, it's technically one bit (at least I think so). I suppose your safest bet would be to choose a volume of two to the whatever power, but I'm not entirely sure
Soundfonts have built-in loop points, and thus sound somewhat more "natural"

God dammit! That fucking sound design! And those melodies, and that composition!
I am, to say the least, impressed
I almost always use a saw wave with different filter settings. I used to use a lot of resonance to get some really sharp sounds, but lately I've just been using slight to moderate low pass filter with no resonance. I feel that, specifically double lsdj, less harsh basses are better to get a fuller set of frequencies. A lot of the time I'll use patterns that play between varied levels of harshness, so I can get a more varied sound.
I had a dream where dsv101 invited me to play at a chiptune festival, except when I got there it was actually just a bunch of emo kids failing at parkour
