All you need to do beyond that is TAKE CARE of your little computer. Some people treat their computers like trash and it makes a huge difference. Only install the bare necessities (~the simple bear necessities~) and don't let it burn itself up.

yeah definitely!
actually the first thing i did when i got my new laptop was a fresh install of win7, and then i opened up msconfig and stop everything except the audio and graphics managers from booting on startup. if you go to a store and buy a new computer it's guaranteed to come with shittons of bloatware.

i dont think i have any of the fruityloops 3 stuff i did in 2002 anymore haha
but everything from 2003 through 2011 is still here somewhere.

i don't really feel like there was a particular point where i simply stopped making crappy music (i still do lololol) BUT i'm pretty confident that everything pre-2004 is utter shit, and there's only sporadic moments of brilliance between 2004 and... well forever really haha. I think 2009 is where i went full-synthpop but on the upside my mixing has improved astronomically since then. and i learned how to make sickeningly cheesy chip unce in 2011, so that's a thing!

yea they should call it chiptunes = too cool for the likes of you :v

in fairness i do find all the ^_^ tongue XD stuff obnoxious as hell but that's just a general internet thing innit?
and there's probably someone out there who sees how i write forum posts and thinks "god this guy is an imbecile!" haha

and bass puddle, thats what he meant, you cant have variable pattern length at all in 1.x so how could you set up polyrhythmic patterns?

just resolve stuff to odd groups of 4/4 e.g. have 3 different patterns where your 3/4 loop starts on different beats, so it ends up working out as 3 bars of 4/4

ofc if you have more complex polyrhythms it gets more tricky and inefficient :v

i dunno, i've read numerous posts by the cleverest dudes saying that the SGB cpu isn't faster, it just boots quicker (i.e. no nintendo logo and "bading!")
or at least, that was my understanding of things!

On that note, I don't know enough about Android to have an informed opinion, but how much of the audio latency problem do you think has to do with the hardware you're typically using it on? I bet if someone built a ground-up integrated Android DAW it wouldn't have that problem…

i think it's mainly the audio drivers
caustic is probably the closest thing to a ground-up android DAW
but caustic would still suck even with low-latency audio haha

I don't quite understand why having a G3/3 in the table would be better for F-commands. Is a table with F-commands slower than normal WAV-synth modulation (or what is the correct term)?

it's not that it's better, it's that if you have no instrument space left you need to do the modulation manually.

let's say you wanted to have your instrument modulate at speed 3
you can leave the table at 1/1 and put spaces between the F commands, using a 3/3 groove would just let you make longer modulations.

if you wanted speed 1 modulation (holy fuck!) you would leave the table groove as 1/1 and just fill it with F commands

i actually can't wrap my head around how you filled up 3F instruments, i'm looking forward to hearing this when it's done!

yes pls

BFD2 is great but you need to really know about acoustic drum mixing to get the most out of it imo
addictive drums was pretty good the one time i used it, too!
