make music for games/films if you want money for your work
until you get lucky or busy with it you'll still need a day job, though

Ya I am going to scrap together a dashboard preset as well but I was hoping for something that would display the DAC waveform and FM operators as you tweak them.

i have no idea how to do this, btw. i'm just putting time in to make something pretty basic so other, busier people don't have to! tongue

Read ya loud and clear. Thanks mate!

I think there are premium cc out modules for synthedit.

There totally are, downloaded a few helpful ones!

The data ranges in the midi mapping guide - how do they work exactly? I mean, say I send a CC value of 127 to one of the operator's attacks rate - does 127 then equate to 31? Or do I need to be sending a CC value between 0 and 31 for it to work properly?

i'll have a go at making a VST interface in synthedit once my friend gets one of these and we can actually test it!

synthedit is a bit of a dinosaur and can't output CC commands out of the box, heh.
alternatively i could create a dashboard preset for FL Studio users

engineering something to mass production isn't solved by infinite cash.

infinite cash would pay your rent, though! wink

i'll have a go at making a VST interface in synthedit once my friend gets one of these and we can actually test it!

stop making threads for every song it's starting to get a little embarrassing

makes me which i was making beats for lady gaga

pfft, we've ALWAYS wished we were making beats for lady gaga

but then again, if it's just a select few of chiptune's top brass that would be pre-ordering, then it might be worth considering? i dunno, i'm no business guy!

me too
also probably a lot of other people

but at the same time i can understand not wanting the pressure of pre-orders piled up on top of the rest of your life's hassles, and wanting to avoid another wayfar-esque fiasco.

let's just circlejerk moar

actually i like to approach a final mixdown like that, having spent a few days listening to the "final draft" mix and then a few more days not listening to it or thinking about it at all. so that when i sit down to tie it all together i actually have a list of things i want to change about it that are still subject to omission.

it's not the same thing as saying "i'm gonna do this better, then i'll do that better", it's quite a lot more specific. it probably wouldn't be the best way for everyone, either. horses for courses!
