I still use MED Soundstudio (former OctaMED from Amiga scene), it is great and fonts can be scaled, when game developer need s3m or mod i convert it in Modplug tracker. When composing i dont use any extra command except volume. And now MED Soundstudio is free, somewhere in Facebook is download link in user groups.

Re: FUCK TRACKERS (30 replies, posted in General Discussion)
Very funny thread, i like sequencers, trackers and also live playing, but it is true that in tracker it takes everything more time, at least for me. I bring for example almost everywhere my iPad, where my favourite tools are Deflemask and NanoStudio 2, i record in NS2 everything live on glass and after that i correct some bad played notes, dynamics, or add automatization of envelopes or fiters, it is probably min. 5x time faster than anything in tracker.

not one board, but are you aware of twisted electrons? therapsid, MEGAfm, AY, etc...quite some is covered already in a useful way
Thanks for good tip, that twisted electrons stuff is very interesting, but not very cheap, but that realtime control is probably worth it!

Btw anyone is interested in chiptune event here in Slovakia/Bratislava? We are nice country, good people and here at Binarium is Demobit party, which is pretty long event and owner of this building is founder of well known antivirus app Eset/Nod so iam pretty sure that if comes enough people to chiptune event, then he will support it.

Re: freezedream - TANGLEWOOD OST (9 replies, posted in Releases)
I have listened some time ago to your album Today at bandcamp and it is great album, so i also noticed that you released also this OST, so i listened also to this, pretty uncommon composition! I also looked at walkthrough of this game at YouTube, but i am not target audience. One strange idea comes to my mind regarding that physical cartridge OST release, for example back in time game Turrican II have had in the menu all tracks from the game so you can hear all tracks, in my case i think it is greatest idea of all time but other games doesn't have that feature. Today is probably another situation becase composers keep rights of OST for themselves so they can sell his music separately, so practically on one cartridge is game with soundtrack, and on another cartridge is "only" OST

Here is interview with founder of Analogue, interesting. I am wondering if that Pocket will accept EMS GB 64M cartridge for LSDJ.
BTW positions of Select and Start button to right down corner is probably bad idea because a lot of combinations in LSDJ is also with these buttons and will be pain to use it from this position.

Re: Really expensive (but super cool) Megadrive anyone? (11 replies, posted in General Discussion)
What is this company Analogue.co? I am waiting for release of Pocket, but i see on the web announcing of more gaming consoles such as Sega Megadrive/Genesis based on FGPA (not emulators like is today popular at Nintendo or Sony). Company is founded in 2011 and up to now nothing real released, so i am a little bit suspitious, but i also must say that their design is very mature, at least visualisations are professional looking, so i am looking forward to try that Pocket. On facebook page is also missing country where is their basement, americans say analog and here in europe is more popular analogue (according to oxford dictionary) but price is in dollars, so i am confused

Oh, no, dont get me wrong, i also started on free Protracker, but i like to pay for quality software, because developers deserves it, some tools or synths costs even 2 euros so why not to support it. Sorry for OT.

1. You probably want to be first musician on the planet earth to use Libre.
2. Nothing really good is free.
3. I recommend LSDJ (Nintendo), Deflemask (multiple systems) and NanoStudio 2 (iPad, probably most perfect UI for touchscreen and amazing synths).

Yes sync is always problem, i tried several times to sync manually by ear, it is not that bad if you train a lot. BTW if you want great budget analog mixer, try for example Mackie 1202VLZ4, you can also use it as another synthesizer.

Re: VividTracker - Amiga mod tracker for iPhone and iPad (23 replies, posted in Software & Plug-ins)
I purchased this VividTracker and i like it, it is a very long time i left Amiga scene (1998), but i composed in Protracker 2.3 maybe 100 mods including some videogame music, but loading samples only from mods is a little bit bad idea, because i have huge library of amiga iff/svx samples so i have to prepare modules to load samples from?
BTW, graphic design on this one should be really better, or some customization of pallette of colours, even PT 2.3 looks more profi At my time with A1200 was maybe topnotch system-UI in OctaMED 5, one funny thing is that if you play sample, and change in sample editor loop range, in this VividTracker it is same as in PT2.3, it is changing loop in realtime, but in that OctaMED it was not updating, so i have had to play again and again that note until loop was perfect, and after 25 years even in PC MED Soundstudio it is still same, loop is not updating in realtime, maybe for compatibility

Re: How does it work live? (12 replies, posted in General Discussion)
You can create song on live stage from nothing (empty song), you can mute channels, run various chains in every channel, you can change type of filter which is assigned to wave instrument (synth), or its from/to settings.
