Hope I can make it!

This is what I love most about being a musician. Scrounging for old and discarded equipment and giving it a second life to make beautiful lo-fi music.

Great find! Can't wait to hear what you do with it!

My preferable method of hype is:
Announce a date in September, miss it.
Say you'll aim for a Halloween release, miss that.
Promise to have it out before Skyrim comes out, miss that deadline.
Make lose promises to friends that it will be out by xmas, miss that due to much drinking.
Buy a copy of Ableton with your xmas money and start making and releasing DJ Mixtapes of other people songs.
Then say "Oh shit, I have my own music to put out" and start recording.
Make promises for with in a month.

In my defense, the album gets better since I end up writing better songs.

I have no clue why you ask!

I know the boys over at Starscream use Quartz Composer for their visuals.

I never thought of doing this, I really want to try this now. My local Goodwill gets a SNES controller or two every few months. Will have to pick one up and try this.

Occasionally people offer them. Scienceguy made some of the best known full arduinoboys (I had one for awhile, they're great) and trash80 briefly sold arduinoboy minis.

Would be nice if one of the many chipmusic supply online stores offered them. I would like to get one soon because I wanna sync Ableton with my DMG.

Wait, you can buy Arduinoboys?

edit: dumb question. I meant, you can buy them pre-made and not used?

Why not DIY? wink Tried this myself and it works just fine. The only thing you might wanna watch out for is keeping your soldering hand steady near that ribbon cable.

I bought one of those little DIY kits from Radio Shack to practice soldering. I'd rather burn a hole in a $15 kit than a hard to find DMG.

I was planning on just painting my stock grey case pure white.

I still haven't done this yet. My soldering guy (aka My Dad) hasn't gotten around to help me with it. I will let you guys know how it turns out when I/he gets around to it.

Please no, things like signaturs is why I genrally avoid forums. It's extra content to wade through.

So I've been focusing more on the arrangement of the instruments in LSDJ than with post-production. I found that setting up Left and Right stereo pans of the bass, percussion, and other non-lead/Kick instruments gives it a fuller sound. I use an automated table Like This to pan Center-Left-Center-Right and use the Envelope command to increase the volume to make up for the decrease in volume when panning left or right. Automated panning tables and being more mindful of the volume of instruments has made a huge difference. I'm still experimenting so I'll share when I discover something new.

I'm in the Milwaukee Area!

I've only been doing this since April, but I would love to play a set! I'm planning on releasing an Album/EP within the next month.
