Doesn't Roboctopus sample guitar chords in one of his songs?

Ladytron just sounds like a square.
Depeche mode sounds like you might want to try some slow vibrato settings and maybe play with the volume column to get that atack and decay thing.
The Human league might need you to play with som high frequency vibrato to make it a bit more grating.
I can't think of much for the visage.

Faceball was great except on the GB it runs at like 2 frames a second.

Always good to hear Yume Nikki samples.

Might be because the last set of releases wasn't as well received. Fun while it lasted.

If I wasn't extremely poor and moving to another country that's still just as far from the US, I'd be all over this shit.

i keep coming back to this release...some parts of it are really weird but it is really well written. it surprises me sometimes: 'whoah, what was done there was great'

It's really playful. Has a lot of zan zan's weird musical sensibility in it. At times it sounds very Farside Virtual.

My favourite thing about these kids of videos isn't learning new techniques as such, but that you get a little poke into how other people put things together. Seeing things you already know about used in a way you wouldn't think about is always really cool. And way more useful and informative than like, a patch.

This was a really fun watch and I'd love to see this continue with more artists and in more formats smile

I make downtempo, wonky, ambient shit with a lo-fi aesthetic when I'm not making chip or rock music. I'm also a regularly recurring member of John Richards Dirty Electronics Ensemble and I've played with Chris Carter (Formerly of Throbbing Gristle), DJ Sniff from STIEM, and Anna Meredith.

That album is actually currently on hold because I'm having trouble getting it mastered because I'm so poor. I have the basically finished un-mastered version though.

It's not even out yet and I've already got the basics done for an EP that was going to follow it up tongue

I'm glad you're looking forward to it!

I have a linguistics degree and I'm horrendously unemployed.

May be moving to holland in the future though so if anyone has any leads for work in the rotterdam area....

Well manga costs less if it's unsuccessful, so they're more willing to take risks with it. The price of modern animation is staggering, generally speaking they'll only make an anime if they consider it a sure fire hit. Also the otaku market is so unbelievably conservative and set in it's ways that they frequently wont accept an anime that deviates from the norm. If it's not Moe or fanservicey you'll have a seriously hard time selling dvd's in japan.

The international market is even worse in many ways. The majority of western fans are only interested in shounen anime like One Piece, Naruto and Death Note and are notoriously crappy at buying dvd's. In one case an anime that got full release in the uk sold exactly 3 copies.

Any way. Any season I generally pick a handful of anime to watch and then whittle it down to a few that aren't totally shit.

This season "Attack on Titan" and "Flowers of Evil" are the two that are most likely going to be the best. Both of them are adapted form really interesting manga and are beautifully fucked up and disturbing in their own way.
