Yeah, I have used nanoloop 2.6 on GBA, GBA micro and NDS lite.
by far, the cleanest sound comes from the NDS lite.

Re: little-scale teensy board thread (21 replies, posted in Other Hardware)
Getting a DMG to sync lsdj to midi is an easy fix... Put a pulldown resistor on pin 3 of DMG link port. done.
thanks for your reply! care to elaborate?
Which resistor value?
So GND on the teensy to link port pin 6 (GND)
Pin 0 on the teensy to link port pin 5 (SC)
And for the fix it will be Pin 1 on the teensy to link port pin 3 (SI) adding a resistor in between?
thanks in advance for your reply!
Sorry for the obvious questions, I'm a noob at teensy.

Re: little-scale teensy board thread (21 replies, posted in Other Hardware)
Loading up Ableton with a blank MIDI clip gets the board to sync just fine and I can tell using the LED on the board itself. The problem is when I'm trying to hook up a DMG with LSDJ to it -- I set it to MIDI mode, hit start so that the DMG is waiting, and then hit play on Ableton, but nothing happens
The only time I've gotten it to sync at all is when I'm messing with the MIDI Sync settings in Ableton. With the board set to an output, all three settings (track, sync, remote) are turned on. Somehow, keeping the sync turned on and turning the track setting on and off repeatedly will randomly start the Gameboy, which is totally weird and makes me think that I'm somehow sending the wrong MIDI messages, but I'm not sure since the board itself seems to be synchronized.
I have this problem. Followed the little-scale blog instructions very carefully. The teensy board LED goes perfect with the Ableton clock,... but on the the LSDJ side is all weird. I'm currently running ableton on a macbookpro with lsdj 3.9.9 having the same exact problem that others have (tweaking the midi out options while playing, sometimes it starts sometimes not).
What I can possible be doing wrong? I just need sync with ableton midi clock.
Thanks in advance for your answer!

Willing to try this, the little scale teensy sync works really weird on me, (or I'm just missing something anyways).

Re: How to make a similar kick in lsdj (7 replies, posted in Software & Plug-ins)
Haven't looked LSDJ on six months (LOL) but here is my attempt.
Draw a triangle on the synth. Put a table on it with the P command for the pitch bend. use C5 or C6 (use whatever you like) It will be really silent. Experiment with the volume.
You can add a nice layering with the NOI channel. Also, if you're crafty enough, use PU1 or PU2 for and extra spice. (clicky silent Vxx pitch bends, like little kicks that sum up).
the overall result should output a very soft (and at a very low volume) triangle with square-esque and noise punchy kick. Use your volumes wisely on your mix.

Re: EMS cart causing me some trouble. (16 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
sounds like a baterry issue to me. Don't use a GBL and an EMS cart, bad choice if you ask me. It's switching to second page for the capacitor thingy (correct me if I'm wrong).
Better put lsdj on both pages, and run on another gameboy, not a gameboy pocket.
Good luck!

Re: Post-Chiptune artist identity. Your thoughts? (154 replies, posted in General Discussion)
When I was a chiptune only artist, I pushed myself to do only chiptune. It was good, for a while.
but now when I create I think on a determinate idea or set of sounds, not need to limit myself to a certain media o genre.
Part of a proccess I guess.

Re: Live Song Transitions? (42 replies, posted in General Discussion)
Just make a huge 20 minutes set using every single LSDJ slots in one proyect. It takes a lot of practice to use it all (if I can recall correctly nullsleep does this in is Depeche mode minimix).
I've manage to make a 24 minute mixes with this technique. Then just tell a joke and while you're at it simply change into another same lengthy song proyect.
I've seen meneo playing 4-5 minute songs with a single gameboy, and loading them in 20-30 seconds. Meanwhile he justs speaks to the audience telling fun stuff. But you'll need a good stage-persona to connect with the people.

the other day I was talking with a sound designer/engineer about that you can make complex skrillex-ish sounds using FM, he is going to die with this. Awesome stuff, last track is my absolutely favourite.
