This is an interesting experiment you're working on, I'm looking forward to seeing what happens!

I guess I'd just like the vibrato delay as a way of customizing the instrument slightly further, as well as being a simple way of making ending vibrato. Maybe I'm just lazy. That's a great idea linking it to pitch attack though, I wouldn't want the interface to change either as it looks sleek as is.

This plugin is excellent. The only feature I would like to see added is the ability to set a delay for the vibrato, that would really complete this for me.

Mic control is mainly just for live work.

In the studio the vocalist should stay as stationary as is comfortably possible, let the voice channel comp sort out any loud bits and/or bring up the quiet bits.   If they start moving about you can get weird phasing type noises, especially with any sibilance.

You can always spot a singer who has done mainly studio or live by their mic technique smile

Whoops, I feel like I should have known that. I know how much studio engineers can care about mic placement. Sorry if I misled anyone. smile

Hell, I'd be satisfied with just .wav samples. I'm not exactly sure what, if any, advantages there are to soundfonts; I just like them because it's one file seperated into instrument banks. Somehow (perhaps erroneously), I find that more convenient.

I'm still looking for an Earthbound/Mother 2 soundfont pack. Someone, somewhere, help me!

Oh dear lord how I wish that would happen.

Experienced singers with mike technique back off the microphone a bit during louder moments, and come in closer during those intimately quiet sections. This certainly helps cut back on the amount of compression you have to use, because too much compression and you lose the dynamics anyway. Or so I've heard...

It seems to me that the game has a Metroid inspired feel, and the music possesses the minimalism that made Metroid's score so great. There's some good tunes in this, some highlights of mine being tracks 1, 3, 7 and 14. Nice work, I'll have to check the game out.

You should definitely check out Linde's latest release, and I'm not sure if this is lame self promotion, but I've written some pretty mellow stuff in the past:

Tranquil Lagoon
Through the Sepulchre

Richard D. James any day of the week.

Downtown Tokyo
3 Steps to a Better Kung Fu

I tried to approach the subject matter from two distinct angles, and these are the results. Good luck to everyone!

Interesting release, I found myself enjoying the minimalist pieces alot; Tracks 1, 8 and 15 in particular. There's potential for extending many pieces, was it a stylistic choice to truncate them? In any case it was a fun listen. smile

The way for this to become something more than an album of musical non-sequiturs, is if everyone agreed on a small set of tempos and keys, that way there would be a few "mini suites". Although I suppose it might take too much organization, and it's probably not the desired outcome. Perhaps an idea for another compilation.
