Maaaan... what a shame! This could have been beautiful. Maybe I'll upload mine here or something.

*yawn* at what point do we just self-release these tracks?

In an effort to declutter and own less things that I never use, I started a thread on the Monome community site a couple of months ago. A lot of stuff went, but a few things remain. Make me a cash or trade offer for any of these items; I don't really use any of it and it's taking up space. Buyer will need to pay P&P and I'm in the UK, just FYI so it'd be a bit pointless to send something cheap and bulky across the atlantic.

I have:
-An AKAI MPC500 - I have 2 of these because I love them so much - I really don't need 2 of these, so one can go - Boxed and everything! (£150ono)
-A proper British-wired Ashdown MAG400 Bass Head, before they shipped out production to China. Lovely thing. Never use it. The output jacks are a bit loose, but usable. (£100ono)
-A Midifighter from their first run, Red LEDs, hand numbered on the back (91/100 I think?) (£60ono)
-A pretty noisy Tascam Porta02 cassette 4 track. (£30ono, no pus)
-An original Novation Launchpad. (£45 ono)

Trade-wise I'd love a properly pimped out custom DMG (thursday / apeshit style), a drag'n'derp, midines, or eurorack modules.

Hey there! I made a sample pack and thought it my go with the vibe some of you non-purists have:

https://vimeo.com/120205155

I sampled the clicks and whirs of four of my film cameras; the Lomo Lubitel, the Smena Cosmic Symbol, the Diana F and the Action Sampler. Please feel free to download the samples and use them freely in any production that takes your fancy. Let me know if they end up in any finished work - I'd be interested to see what becomes of these recordings.

You can download the samples here: soundcloud.com/sfgsmith/sets/old-camera-sample-pack

Thanks!

Thanks for the comments.

Jody, my main workflow is getting source material that is melodically or harmonically interesting, but not necessarily texturally interesting, putting it into ableton and fucking with until it sounds good. There's loads of old MPC stuff that I put in Ableton along with VL tone, stylophone, game boy and loads of toys like that. I love time stretching things, applying reverb, resampling, turning that into a rack, chopping it up with autopan, dropping it a couple of octaves, resampling, repitching.... you get the idea. A lot of the percussion sounds are originally from loops taken from LSDJ and some of the pads are just time stretched reverbed arms. Hope that answers your question.

Hey, guys. I do a lot of work with LSDJ and Korg D-10, but it rarely comes out sounding chiptunish. I've posted stuff here before and people have been relatively interested to hear how I use these tools in very different settings to how they're usually used.

This EP is quite full of LDSJ parts, but not as you'd know them, give it a listen if you're interested:

New 6 track EP of DMG DnB from donotrunwithpixels. A lot of LSDJ, some Pounder, a little bit of Ableton, and a good measure of Awesome.

Just pedalling my new EP around the labels at the moment, and if I don't hear back soon I'll selfrelease again. THE CRYSTAL RAVE will be a 6 track DnB EP full of purist chip goodness.

So excited I think I just wet myself a little.

ugh - can't access google docs at work. I'll look through your vinyl tonight and judge you for leaving hipsterdom.

Iron Curtain has business cards.

This fact makes me so happy.
