I've had a Venusaur song for awhile. Any specific guidelines we need to follow?

You did just fine. Fix them dead lines though!

Not to mention you'd still be cannibalizing SPs. Have your bud laser cut sheets of 0.5mm clear plastic and locate a reflective film to lay over it. well...talk to people who have looked into the materials first. tongue

The plexy is just clear. It's all about the refraction film that we have all yet to figure out what it is..

The third party replacements had no text, but they were apparently more of a teal color.

They had text. They just didn't have the Gameboy and Nintendo logo.

Yep. I have a teal one. It has all the text except the NINTENDO Game Boy logo.

Use two post-it-notes on the frontlight. Put the glue side on the edge you need to cut. It works perfectly and leaves no residue behind.

the issue is where the ribbon cable meets the glass part of the screen.  sounds like some solder points may be a touch loose.

its possible to fix, it involves heat just like fixing the DMG screens.  but the application is much much trickier.

i've been using something like this with much better results than a straight soldering iron:

search for 'LCD repair soldering iron' or something similar on ebay.  someone here on cm.o was questioning them in a thread a while back, i picked one up, it works really well

also if you are someone who just likes weird tools (like me), its great.  the most specialized soldering iron tip i've come across.  the pyrography ones were until i got this guy

Why did I not know this tool existed!

The Micro only plays Advance games. If you like the compact size of the Micro then you would need to use software for Advance.
I would recommend a Game Boy Color and the GB USB 64m Smart Card.
You can get a frontlit Game Boy color right here:

To "export" the sound you would actually record it in a similar way to recording an electric guitar. Using an audio cable into whatever interface you have. Most recording software will allow you to just use the mic input on your computer.
I would also recommend having a prosound modification which will give you much cleaner, louder and bassier sound.

Theoretically clear ones should stand up a little bit better since clear plastics tend to be denser. I feel like this would be true with original clear cases but maybe not with kitsch since they're translucent and clearly a bit softer than the originals.

Wow. You are really onto something here. This is so awesome.

I have no idea how this works but is it possible to turn down the intensity of the laser? Seems like it's just engraving to deep and melting it too much.

Oh man... If someone is willing to rip me some sounds from Final Fantasy 6 I will pay you some money. I don't have a PC let alone the patience. Message me.

Maybe uncheck Game Boy color mode when flashing the cart? Never tried this so it's just a guess.
