I've been looking as well (got a 1.1 of ebay on it's way) and haven't found the 1.1 manual.  However, I think that everything should be the same as 1.2 except for the custom waveform on S (only 1 in 1.1 and 16 in 1.2) so here's the 1.2 manual:

that will probably do the trick. thanks.

I have found an old nanoloop 1 cart. I cannot figure out how to make the song screen work. i can save and load stuff, but i need to arrange it.

nobody makes red start and select buttons.

do you have lsdj? you could punch all of the ascending/ descending intervals in and read them off a chart you make as they play. it takes 17 times to memorize something. what the theory teacher did at the college i went to was find songs that have each interval. minor second is like the scarey music in that shrak movie jaws...
try ricci adams' musictheory.net too

I searched the ebay obsessiveley for years, only to loose a bidding war. Then I researched who had been making tracks with it. Bought it. I don't know what sort of methods you will employ, in your search, but good luck.

there was an 'official' cartridge put out for sale on the nanoloop site in a very limited #.  i *think* it differs in that it has some limited saving ability?

I managed to score one of these official carts recently. It has 16 save slots. it responds well (stays synced with unmodded gbc/gbasp/dmg) to a pitch modded gameboy.

I like where this is going..what tracks exactly and from which levels. i could punch them in to lsdj or nanoloop. I need pratice
