here's mine.
I moved 2 caps down, because over there the plastic is thicker. you can use sandpaper or a razor to scratch a bit of the casing, be careful not to overdo it, just enough.

Also, don't forget to carve a slot for the usb port. After that, you should be able to squeeze the pcb in your new cart.
It might still be a bit crammed, because the battery is quite close to the side of the cart, which makes it harder to slide it shut.

you could use a grey cart first to experiment on, before trying it on a coloured cart, because you can find them everywere tongue
and remember to back up your sav file, just in case.. you never know.

all at your own risk of course.

Oh, and Goob. The name of the cartridge isn't lsdj. The program is called Lsdj.
I'm assuming you've got a EMS cartridge?

Naming your cartridge lsdj is like naming your iPod Justin Bieber.

Sorry, its just easier for me to call it my lsdj cartridge... EMS from now on!  So, if I was going to use a pink cartridge, why would I want to bleach it white? The pink one is awesome!!!

Also, the pink one is rare as fuck.
you could sell it and buy 3 more EMS carts.

And again: the colour doesn't matter. they are all the same size.

Oh, and EMS, because there are different types of flash carts that you can use in your gameboy. EMS is the most used, but you've also got Bleepbloop and ... another that i can't remember the name of at the moment...

On a more serious note: you have to move one of the capacitators from the top of the cart a bit down, use some wire to connect it.

Doesn't matter at all what colour cart you use. It won't fit in a normal size DMG cart because of the dent on the top.

I'll try and take some pics of one I did tomorrow.

Don't ask me how I know...

How do you know?

I think you should try to figure out what the recording problem is, but also use it to your advantage! Mix it with a clear signal or something. It's a cool effect somehow. Sound a bit autechre-ish.

Sometimes you have to embrace little accidents like this smile

You can always make an lsdj keyboard... Lots of control there!

I live in Utrecht, which is pretty much the chip capital of holland.

So, awesome.

Heh. I just realised:
Does this mean that 8bit community is back?!

I already have fm with my gameboy tongue
Using a FB-01 with an arduinoboy and midi-out.

But it's not using the Vin.

If the arduino could acces an FM chip or Sid directly, you'd skip a step there and could possibly built it all into a DMG. Also, you wouldn't have to write new software, you can just use the LSDj version with midi-out.

That looks awesome big_smile
More 16 bit then 8 bit tho... But hey, who's counting.

Should be fun!

Perkele

I've seen them around a few times, mostly on trading/second hand sites.

personally, I think they are ugly as hell big_smile

I used a dmg and a FB-01 to make this here track:
http://chipmusic.org/timbob/music/roygb … dmg--fb-01

When you use your arduinoboy for midi-out, you can't sync it anymore. So if you want to use 2 DMG's you'd have to start them with perfect timing.

What I used to make 3 note chords is put a Nxx in the command line, and use 2 Q commands in the tables.
(So say, enter the note A 4, Place N40 in your command line, and Q00 and Q04 in row 0 of your table)

also, each channel of lsdj sends out notes on different midi channels, so you can have up to 4 different FM instruments together with your DMG sounds. If you can cram it all in smile

I'm afraid that won't work. The nanoloop USB/midi controller only works when connected to a pc. (or mac)
If you connect your USB keyboard to your of as well, it should work tho. But not as a standalone.
