i've worked in a bakery before. the early mornings were absolutely brutal on me, because i could NOT make myself go to sleep at 9pm no matter how hard i tried. some days i would just not sleep at all and then go to work.

Re: I've been trying to make a LSDJ keyboard... (16 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
i used a cord from a dmg-07.
and, in my experience, most ps2 keyboards are different. i had to try a bunch of different combinations before it worked. and then i didn't even realize i had done it correctly because i didn't have the LSDJ file set up properly.
someone should make a demo .sav file for introducing people to what you can do with an LSDJ keyboard.
make a new chain and phrase. put an instrument value in every step of the phrase. then hit play, THEN try the keyboard.

I use one of the Bleepbloop USB carts. I know that the emulators I've tried using with the GB Camera ROM won't work, not sure if the problem's related though. I've never used the EMS carts so I really couldn't say.
my rom works fine on my computer but doesn't work on the cart, lame.

No problem. It works great, but sometimes if you try to preview the images on the flash cart using the Game Boy they'll be all garbled up. They transfer fine, so I'm assuming there's some hardware in the real camera made for previewing the pictures(?).

Re: Outputting GB Camera Pictures to PC? (35 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
My method's a little different from Silph Scope, but similar idea:
-Load GB Camera ROM (acquired legally) onto flash cart
-Put flash cart in one Game Boy and camera with pictures into another
-Transfer pictures from Camera to flash cart
-Upload .sav to your computer and us GB Camera pic dumper
woah! i had no idea you could do that. thanks!

Re: Writer's Block and Creative Burnout (49 replies, posted in General Discussion)
i never really get "writer's block" because i never feel the compulsion to write something without also having pretty specific ideas of what to write. if i'm working on something, it's because i already have ideas. if i don't have any ideas, then i can go weeks without writing something and feel totally fine about it.
it seems like some people feel this compulsion like "i have to write something NOW" even when they have no ideas. that feeling seems weird to me and i cant really relate to it. what so wrong with just not writing anything for a while?

Re: any advice for my first solo gameboy show? (69 replies, posted in General Discussion)
a video from the show. it went great. thanks for the great advice.
i'd typically be a lot more animated but the room made me feel very awkward. everyone was sitting at little tables, kind of a weird distance from me, and i think that a local human rights group was trying to have a meeting in one corner of the room. i don't know, it was weird.
but yeah, a great first show. low pressure. the only big mistake i made was that i accidentally must have switched back to song mode somehow and when i hit start, the song stopped playing. very lame.

If you don't have a MMC/lappy to bring for backups, buy a cheap 1gb mp3 player, and bring a recording of your songs, just incase y'all
for all the revengineers shows, we bring an ipod with .wav versions of the nsf files. it has saved our asses so many times.
