Hmmm...I don't think the lead and beat programming go together at all. To me they're competing, but in a bad way. The channels don't sound in sync with each other.

Haha there's no need to have a compo for everything. Just make a pack, put it on bandcamp and link it here.

We'll just have Frostbyte make a pack too. I wouldn't mind hearing a bunch of artists renditions to be honest. Even though I'd only use one or two actual tones I think it's an interesting mini project. It's along the same lines as the 1 second compo.

SUCH a great idea. There's a specific art in making really good phone notifications. I dig it completely.

I'm all over this.

Alright ima go with nitro and 640*360. Thanks for the help. There are just so many goddamn video settings and sizes these days.

I'm looking for some advice on what dimensions to use to provide the most pixel perfect quality I can in a youtube/vimeo video. The things animated are very small and I think any anti aliasing or blurriness would completely ruin it. Here's the base image I'll be animating.

I've done some research but haven't gotten anything concrete. I really just want to prevent myself from doing all the animation only to find the dimensions didn't really work out. I know some of you have experience with this kind of thing.

The one pixel sniffing is brilliant.
Really funny and cool animation.

Auxicide, It's because it never really used to be like this.
These days everyone just posts whatever and whenever they feel like it even if it doesn't really serve a purpose.

Seriously no hate by this...just an example... you have 60 pages of posts here in under a year.

Ant1 (who you said you blocked to make things quieter) has 77 pages over the course of THREE years.

Forums are a place for discussion. Not texting each other back and forth 30 times a day.

I mean I say all this but I still visit the site every day for releases and stuff. I'm just 25 and hate change.

I agree with spacetown.
When people ask me and a couple buds about Chipmusic when we busk I have to take a second and think whether I should give out CM.org or not. A year or two ago I'd have given it out without hesitation...but now...

I've been saying "go to CM.org...but ignore the forums just go to the music at the top" and that's my gut response so something's definitely changed.

Edit: Of course as I write this I realize all the current bumped threads are either releases, tutorials or tech threads. Sonofabitch.

Honestly...I just don't want to see a dozen pictures of a hedgehog in a thread I was originally interested in. My crabby attitude lately has stemmed from that.

Edit: Anyway...I think uC is coming along nicely and I definitely do look forward to browsing the music section late at night while continuing to come here for forum stuff.

Most had grudges against the music ratings and the users there.

I liked the music section as did many here. It was a quick way to find music and a lot of it was good.

That died and now derpness comes here. I mean some dude just posted a link to a youtube video of him playing Doom. Stupid shit that didnt have anything to do with chipmusic, or was posted by a 5 year old, or was a troll was sniped away by 8bc keeping this site much more informative and serious.

The circlejerking and popularity contests have started forming here. If this site were to have a rating system like 8bc did we would be seeing the same exact favoritism we saw at 8bc. It's a sign the user base here has gotten a little wonky.

Cost of animation?
Budget?
What?

I think the people over at http://ucollective.org/ would appreciate this more........

There's a databent cat in the image section.

I think it's heading in the right direction.

Yeah I thought about that too. It's good he's trying to bring his own into it rather than just clone 8bc.
