you can see on the individual page for each individual song which license that song is licensed under as it is varies over the songs, they are not all the same license

BY: you can use this in your youtube video if you say who it is  by and link back to the page on cm.o
BY-SA: as BY but you must release your youtube video under a BY-SA license
BY-ND: no, you can't use it in a youtube video
BY-NC: as BY but only as long as you are not profiting from it
BY-NC-SA: as BY-SA but only as long as you are not profiting from it
BY-NC-ND: no, you can't use it in a youtube video
CC0: do whatever you want
"all rights reserved": no, you can't use it in a youtube video

if you contact the author directly and explain what you want to do you may be able to get permission to use things even if they are say they are BY-ND or all rights reserved

hope this helps

i can't get my head around that argument at all really. but i first heard dubstep in 2008 and it wasnt good then either.

is kind of like if Bit Shifter got really popular and everyone started to love his music and then they came here and hated all our music because we weren't as good as bit shifter. i think it would be wrong to blame bit shifter for the bad reputation of chiptunes in that scenario.

i recommend Schism Tracker

but most of all i recommend trying to work out what works best for you without worrying about what people on a forum think you "should" do.

here some random selection of trackers to get you started

klystrack
renoise
chibitracker

do these count

i asked for you,

apparently this website has a very large database of american light bulbs

maybe you can email the proprietor with the picture if you can't find it yourself

i hate skrillex but he is better than "real dubstep" so stop complaining he is giving your genre a bad name

your genre DESERVEDLY has a bad name and it would have an even worse name without skrillex

now i will play the game

no idea, i will ask someone who knows about these kind of things

but i wish you very much luck on this incredibly worthy quest!

hi there, i have seen you on csdb and on beverley hills 90210 wink

i like your music already, i will listen to this. and so should everyone else!

if you want the "atari sound" of ay riderz/YM rockerz  etc, protracker is probably not the software you are after. it is a sample tracker in the same vein as protracker/noisetracker on amiga and scream tracker on PC etc. it doesn't really make the unique sounds which can be associated with atari.

for those sound you may be better off with musickmon or triplex or maxymizer

that s your artist page not fan page smile

I CLICKED THIS THREAD TO ASK ABOUT NINTENDO BREAKS TOO

BUT I AM HAPPY TO SEE EXPLODING HEAD DISEASE UP THERE smile

i have heard that the mac uses all the f1 to f12 keys for OS stuff

which makes both milkytracker and schism not useful i think

renoise is probably your best bet .. and since the default keymap is so broken even on windows that you have to write your own anyway you don't lose anything doing it on mac.

i bet some people have figured out how to work schism on mac but i am not one of them

edit: i read a forum it said "The help key on a Mac keyboard is actually the same key as the insert key on a PC keyboard." other forum say fn-m with numlock off or 0 on the numpad with numlock off (does a laptop have a numpad or numlock i dunno

i imagine that people with a mouse, keyboard and monitor are quite likely to have a PC too. in which case the raspberry pi is just added expense - but it looks cool! try schism tracker on it and then you don't need a mouse either smile)) it could be good for people who are gigging or going to workshops/PARTIES or whatever (although a netbook should be just as good) smile

but i will stick to my PC/laptop for tracking i think. i own far too many rarely-used techno-objects as it is smile

ah maybe i misunderstood the point of the thread smile

if you just want to know what makes my music interesting to me

it is my stupid sample collection i have built up over the years
it is the out of tune amen breaks
it is the melodies played on 808 kick drums or the fl studio vocal samples
it is the way they do one idea eight times in a row and then another idea and then end

but if you did those things you'd be an ant1 rip off big_smile

not that My Music Is The Only Interesting Music, just that if i knew what goto80 and nq and zanzan were doing to make their music so interesting i'd probably be doing it . so i can't help you out there smile

that's what i think of your music but you probably had sincere intentions when making it

it seems like "how to write a pop song" to be honest
