I feel ya man haha. When I first registered, I saw Saskrotch online and I died a little inside. Next time I came on and there was Bit Shifter and I couldn't believe my eyes.
Yeah, a good once in a while they step down from the heavens to use the internet just like regular mortals.

It's a really surreal feeling standing in a room full of people you've spent a long time socializing with solely via the internet. Blip '09 definitely felt like stepping into another reality. But as for feeling starstruck, no way. People are people.

Emily, please accept my apology. Rich is 100% right: it was wrong of me and you can expect a full apology in person the next time I see you. And when you turn 21 I will buy you a drink as a token of my deep shame and regret.

Re: EMS 64MB USB Cart in Linux? (52 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
Hey guys, sorry to perform thread necromancy. Just wanted to let you know that I wrote a very rudimentary EMS USB flasher for Linux.
It's waaaay alpha at the moment, but it'll do the trick if you just need to flash a ROM to the first bank. Currently under active development, so feel free to submit bug reports, suggestions, etc
This is pretty awesome, especially considering it's only done in 152 lines of C. I have a few simple suggestions though (this makes me feel arrogant, it's your software and you can do what you want with it):
1. Take out the gotos
2. Fclose when you're finished with I/O (this is probably not necessary, but just in case)
3. Replace the x ? foo : bar stuff with if statements, even though it's a pain in the ass it makes the code more readable
4. More functions, shorter main, and maybe breaking those functions off into their own seperate header/implementation files
5. A command-line argument parser would be cool, so that way by checking the last four characters in the filename you could easily pass off program execution to either a ROM I/O function or a RAM I/O function
6. I'm not sure if there's any sort of mechanism to actually make individual object files is in your makefile (I could be totally up my own ass here), but I would throw this in there somewhere for good measure (it's great if you're lazy):
%.o: %.c include.h
$(CC) $(CFLAGS) $@ $<
7. More comments!
8. Obvious filesize checks and boundaries that will obviously be implemented eventually
I would be more than willing to make some of these changes if you're okay with it (although i'm not at all familiar with git, nor am i familiar with the specifics of the actual cart). I'm just a freak about clean code.

Topic: FS: NES Lot (1 replies, posted in Trading Post)
Feel kinda guilty posting this here, as games aren't really what this site is about, but funch it, I need money for pizza in NYC.
I have a clean NES in perfect working order with brand new pins installed (they're still pretty tight). It comes with the following games, and I would really, really rather not break all this up:
Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt x2
Super Mario Bros 2
Super Mario Bros 3
Castlevania
Dr. Mario
The Legend of Zelda
The Adventure of Link (broken, using it as a cleaning cart)
Top Gun
Final Fantasy
Dragon Warrior
Gyruss
Xexyz
Abadox
Metroid
Double Dragon II
T&C Surf Design
Rad Gravity
Kirby's Adventure
Megaman 2
M.C. Kids
Also comes with 2 controllers and a zapper. $100.

also heres how this is going to go, youre going to emo out for like a week, then youre gonna go "okay ill continue writing music but im done with chiptune" then after a week youll return to lsdj and GO HARD
Nah son. A lot of this temporary, non-permanent, non-I QUIT CHIP WAHHH break/hiatus/chillout really has to do with how satisfied I've been with my life as of late. I've been growing up a lot lately and re-evaluating my priorities, and I feel like this is the best decision for me right now. Besides, I've been spending such an indordinate amount of time doing nothing but writing music for the last three years or so, I could really use some time away from it. I feel creatively tapped out for the time being, so why not spend this time doing other things?
I still love chipmusic and the majority of the people I've met through it. That shouldn't even be a question. Fuck.

Here it is, a relatively large chunk of all the gameboy music I've ever completed in its original format. I've left out a few things (namely Dauragon Gets His Dick Wet, Luna pts. I and II, and a few collabs/various allsorts), and I might upload them later if I feel so inclined. If anyone cares, I'm done writing music for a while for a number of personal reasons, and I will still see to it that any commitments I've made are fulfilled.
