Very slow and shallow pitch LFOs (on different voices)? I guess I'm not entirely sure what you're looking for though.

It's like a cross between braid, tiny wings, and skate or die. Which is to say, it's very good.

Yeah I like it. It's good to keep it busy I think. Otherwise it can get monotonous.

I've tried using lsdj on my itouch, I think there's only one emulator. The sound is not okay. It's basically unusable. Just use nanoloop, or sunvox, I say.

Full length albums are hard to make.

Yeah that would be cool. I agree that channel stealing  could make for interesting sounds.

It's not uncommon for a single album to stay in my CD player for almost a week.

When I was younger, pre-mp3 days, I'd get a new CD and listen to it for at least a week straight. If I liked it, there was a good chance that I'd memorize it in its entirety, to the point where hearing the songs out of order (shuffle mode) would be jarring and strange. If you wanted to listen to something else you had to switch CDs. With digital music, skipping between songs, artists and playlists is so simple. Perhaps this is one contributing factor for some people's fondness for full length albums and other people's fondness of shorter music bursts?

tl;dr
Digital is convenient. I feel old.

Ah good point. The medium itself does affect how we think about releases. I usually end up making playlists from my favorite artists.

No turn-key service is perfect. But we keep on using them because they are simpler than DIY.

What about using Pure Data or Max? Not lightweight enough or ...? I believe both of those have options to export as a standalone application. Might be a way to jumpstart your progress at least.

It would certainly work for the sound engine. I believe that libpd let's you embed PD patches in executable files. Its still a bit experimental. In the long run it may be better just to learn how to do it yourself.

Oooh, interesting topic.  Famitracker is open source too. Are you making a synthesizer or just a sampler?

i like that idea! so if people commented on my music it would show up under my name on the right in the online section if i was online? or what if when you clicked a song on the front page it also opened the comments section (rather than having to click 'view item'..)

I think he means more like a separate "shout box", with last 5 comments given. But your idea is kinda interesting.

It's been like that for a while. Just a side effect of the way the site does avatars.
