So, like, anybody know any chiptuners in Wilmington, NC and it's surrounding cities?

It's just me, as far as I can tell.

Just be patient. I'm sure we'll find out in due time. It's not like this is some super-secret-society contraband item or something.

RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWSOME

My body was not ready.

I haver never heard electric guitars mesh so PERFECTLY with 8-bit before. This is just... I've never been floored by a power chord like that beforer... ;_;

Thank you so much for the experience. =,) This has to be some of the best impure chiptune music I've ever heard.

PS: The opening riff reminds me of "Three Ninjas: Kickback"

I liked the wet sound with the effects. I didn't like the abrupt transitioning between wet and dry, though.

I really liked it.

You can make on of those phone mics for like 4 dollars, assuming you already own a soldering iron and old phone. It'll do the job. You want overdrive not distortion, two totally different things.

Very true. O and D are very different things. Have anyone tried singing through an overdrive pedal?

Cool. It's nice to know the story behind it. You learn something everyday.

I'm always fascinated by similarities that crop up between different artists, songs, genres, etc., so don't think I'm saying your stuff is unoriginal when comparing it to Brother Android and 8Bit Betty.

I'm no major authority on chipmusic, but I'll cosign that I see much potential and good awareness of musical structure in your songs. Keep on working at it. I look forward to seeing that potential fulfilled. Some of those motifs are catchy. Some of the coolest music is made by people who just make what they think sounds good.

Peace out.

Why not just use the lamp accessory that plugs into the link-cable port?

I started using 7F+FE because I figured I'd never use them all up to actually need anything that high.

You wouldn't happen to be a Brother Android or 8Bit Betty fan, would you?

to answer your question... I think this is a bit early to be releasing an EP. In that train of thought, it seems like your WHOLE process is rushed. Maybe slow it down a little bit. Try focusing more on creating melodies and harmonies without arp chords. But, then again, that method might not be for you, so take it with a grain of salt.

I actually liked the 4th track the best. The rhythm style suited the style, and it was pretty interesting to listen to, and the only track with an interesting melody that took some time to breathe.

I was wondering why your stuff was kicking my head in so hard. (^.^)b
I spent four minutes trying to figure out how all these sounds were coming out of 4 channels.

If you copy+pasted your photograph into an image with the NES color palette using indexed-colors, it would have the correct bit-depth.

But. I have nothing to contribute to the OP.

This has been a very informative and eye-opening thread. It has caused me to re-evaluate my self-value as a musician. I find it ironic that the OP took all of the criticism and advice very well, and learned something from it, and only AFTER that took place did someone suddenly appear to defend the OP, after the OP had moved on.

You sure taught me a lesson

I think we all learned a lesson here today. . . Smoking is wrong, kids.

I learned that you can't just drop into a music community and say "Make me some free music, please," and expect people to just drop everything and make you some just because you asked. It shows a lack of respect and esteem for the musicians who make up the community who place a high value on their music.

You'd have better luck of commissioning free music at a Game Maker forum, I think.

I'd like to hear that Baroque piece, too. I love baroque.

I've often wondered what a noise channel song would sound like. Nice.

Be sure to present the songs in a way that requires you to press buttons other than "Start". It looks so much more interesting and mystical when you look like you're "playing" a song. The first time I saw nullsleep, I was like "How is he doing all that with just a d-pad and two buttons?!?"

::)

Thanks! Well, that's a start, at least.

I was searching for a list on Google, but all I found were "Gameboy sound samples".
