Just curious. I saw a slightly similar thread, but it was more focused on melody than just a musical piece in general (and not everybody writes melodious music, ya know?)

I'll start. Being a chiptuner with out a working Gameboy or cart (or any other chipmusic-dedicated hardware), composing music using LSDJ in BGB with cheap speakers inspires me. I think I get a feeling of satisfaction knowing that the sounds coming out of BGB are as close as an emulator can get to the real thing, so it makes me feel confident that what I'm creating sounds good.

VBA not so much. Although it still gets the job done, I don't feel as inspired when using that emulator.

Another thing that inspires me is when my little sister says "It doesn't bother me. I like this song." when I apologize to her for making her have to listen to my tunes over and over while I'm tweaking/jamming.

I first heard your work on some online Chiptune radio station, and admired your contribution to Rockman Chiptuned. I was slightly starstruck when I registered here and saw you were a member. Does that help?

Why does Evergreens II end so abruptly? ;_;

Man... I'm in love with that grey+bluebuttons DMG. heart

I just wish I could justify spending that much on a Gameboy, mods or no, considering I only do GB music as a glorified hobby. I haven't even graduated from LSDJ+Emulator yet. My electric guitar and bass guitar didn't even cost 100 bucks each. sad

But, really... I've found my dream color scheme.

I like the off-beat noise percussion.

Whats with that? seems like a few years ago cartridges were all over ebay and basically anywhere else

Yes. And people bought them. And kept them.

But I'm sure there's someone on here with an extra cart or two. Good luck. They pop up on ebay every so often. And then there's kitsch...

Time for me to stop pussyfooting around and just order one of these things, then... If I wait too long, they'll be banned in the US paypal too.

@breakphase: They don't make money off of cartridges that could maybe possibly potentially allow people to play their games without buying them in the 3DS virtual console.

I only use old computers. All mine allow stereo mix recording.

in windows select your recording device to be "stereo mixer"

This is not recommended in the GB, because you will lose the stereo capabilities of the Game Boy mixing the stereo output.

In this context, Stereo Mix does not mean "Mix the Stereo", lol. "Mix" in this case, means "output" and Stereo means stereo. Recording from "Stereo Mix" records the sounds that come out of your speakers, in stereo. There is also a "mono mix", which records the sounds coming out of your speakers in mono. Some sound cards refer to it as "Speaker Mix"

It's always baffled me how few people know about the stereo mix option of the "Recording Settings" in Sound Control.

I'll back up your ukulele on my jaw harp.

Glad this was bumped, because I probably never would hav heard this album otherwise. It's awesome. With all the recognition it's gotten (two pages for a release thread!!), I wasn't expecting some of the tracks to sound so...  Mega Man/Top Gun/Bonk/Classic NES/Gameboy etc. esque.

Thank you for keeping it real, and respect to the classics.

Make sure you backup your sav like, everyday.

If they are, it would be through Virtual Console on either Wii or DSi/3DS.

It is.

@"Diamond Skies Are Enough For Me"
I'm always disappointed when I hear a good melody screamed rather than sung... sad But I guess that just comes with the genre. That's just my personal opinion. It's fun to imagine the implied melody, at least.

I must say, I liked the contrast between the upbeat instrumentation and the angry/angst-ridden/vindictive lyrics. Funny in a subversive.

This wouldn't be an issue if Nintendo wasn't still distributing gameboy games.

Ya know, my earlier reply may have come off as sarcastic, so nobody would take it seriously... so I'll try a different approach:

Is it possible to transfer individual songs between lsdj.sav files? Like, if I have two different machines running lsdj, could I merge them?

Or is this link cable idea for copying an entire sav file to another cartridge?
Edit, Oh, nevermind. This thread answered my question.

I'm holding out for these. All I can do until the DnD cart is released is emulate LSDJ.
