Also, what you listed as 'beyound tracker' refers to itself as 'Paragon 5 Gameboy Tracker'?

hey iLkke, beyond tracker is what we called the tracker before its public release (various versions of the tracker were in use for quite some time prior to the public release for creating soundtracks and sfx to commercial gameboy games) ... also for the demoscene aware; as well as my demo tracks in the archive there's a tasty demo track by purple motion/future crew in the archive too :O)

andy

ps the fact the public release was 10yrs ago really makes me feel old *cries* :)

could just be the rf modulator is screwed up try using a rgb or svideo cable u can grab them on eBay quite cheaply ... also make sure the cart connector is clean ...
hope that helps

hullo peeps - head over to bootgod's nes cartridge database here: http://bootgod.dyndns.org:7777/home.php

look up Faria in the title field, hit search, look at the Faria next to the US flag, checking the data for that will give you the 'boardtype' you need which is NES-SKROM-04, click that and that will tell you which cart you will need to use as a donor, incidentally it'll  also tell u which  cart you'd need to use to make a famicom cart if u step back and click the Faria next to the japanese flag smile
hope that helps \o_

Finally got a few mins to write this - hope you all find it helpful!

Quick guide to making Master System tracks with Impulse Tracker:
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Get Python 2: http://www.python.org/download/

Grab IT2VGM -> http://pubacc.wilcox-tech.com/~greaser/ … vgm.py.txt
Grab SMSPackGen -> http://pubacc.wilcox-tech.com/~greaser/ … gen.py.txt

These tools are made by Greasemonkey and were spotted by Smspower.org member thematrixeatsyou - props to GM
for creating such a nice set of tools and thematrixeatsyou for sharing the information!

Feature Breakdown:
----------------------
SMS PSG Chans =

1 - Square
2 - Square
3 - Square
4 - White Noise

Channel 4 notes need to be A-4 A-5 or A-6 to trigger non-linked noise other notes
will link to Channel 3 (sq)

You cannot use this tool with OpenModplug or ModplugTracker - you need to use the original
Impulse Tracker or SchismTracker; http://schismtracker.org/wiki/Schism%20Tracker

The converter supports pretty much every Impulse Tracker command... Including GXX and JXX \o/

How to use:
---------------
1) Rename your python files it2vgm.py and smspackgen.py respectively (remove the .txt)
2) Put python in your global path
3) To create a sample pack tune to work with type:
python smspackgen.py
4) Grab Impulse tracker or SchismTracker to work with this file
5) To convert your tune type:
python it2vgm.py nameoftune.it nameofvgm.vgm
6) Check your VGM in your favourite player
7) Goto 4 if needed :)

To play on a real SMS:

1) Make yourself an EPROM cart (very easy - just find an afterburner or similar cart
and pull the code rom out and stick a socket in its place)
2) Burn Maxim's nice VGM player rom (http://www.smspower.org/maxim/SMSSoftware/VGMPlayer)
and your VGM onto an eprom and go :)

Hope that helps peeps get a handle on making some Sega Master System tunes \o_ have fun

brill big_smile i must make some time to play around with these - thanks for posting about them!

yes the old blinky light of death is mostly related to the lockout chip - I've brought lots of pals NES's back to life by sorting out the lockout chip smile - http://nesdev.parodius.com/nlockout.txt its not even necessary to tie pin 4 to 0v either...
