I recently had a nightmare in which I had a seemingly infinite amount of dirt in my mouth.  No matter how much I tried to spit out, there was always more.  I woke up and had sleep paralysis, Nearly puked everywhere.  I am bad at sleeping.

Happens to me as well.  It ends up kinda funny sometimes, my band and I will often joke about how gross a salad with (vinai)regrette would be.

Listen to a lot of music, and just deconstruct it in your head/on paper.  Examine what is going on in a song, and what makes it be like that.  It helps a lot to understand how other people structure songs, and then, try on that same piece of paper, try to plot out a song, and then try to execute it.  Try using a different program/medium to get practice.  Let yourself suck, it's a part of the process and generally the hardest part.

There are plenty of free piano apps probably.  Good for ear training an music theory.

In all seriousness though.  MrWimmer and Alex Wimmer are two mostly separate states I can be in.  I'm mostly just a guy who plays a lot of tabletop games, listens to a lot of jazz, and writes music when he can.  But put me in a suit, get me behind a microphone, and put some bourbon near me, and suddenly I'm this wise-cracking mildly asshole-ish dude who's crooning, and screaming, and trying to make you swoon over him.  The two don't overlap much at all, but I can genuinely say they're both part of me.  Other musical projects I've undertaken don't really do it to me with the same intensity.  I can be the mildly nerdy guy behind the synth if there's other people to pull some of the showmanship slack, but if I'm alone on stage, I guess I feel like I've got more responsibility.
