Hey I'm like 9 months new, does that count?

Hate to tell you this, but a majority of chiptune music is composed with trackers (or at least, in my circles)
Yes, they can be hard to learn, but if you really want to write music then you have to learn stuff! Most of the trackers SketchMan3 listed have communities where you can go and ask questions too.

Nothing really comes easy, you have to get down and dirty sometimes if you really want to write! wink

On a related note, any plans for a sync-listen live stream? The last one was so much fun! big_smile

Perhaps....

There might be something in the works!

Oh hey! I was very surprised to see my name up there with everyone else haha.

When do you need the songs by? I might send something in for July smile

MisfitChris, if I was in the same state as you, I would say "yes" in a heartbeat ;3

Also I would love to see you perform as well! big_smile

Nailed It is really cool. At first it made me think of Mega Man Battle Network, but then it just went off, haha. I love the drums. Was that done in Famitracker? I like how the drums blend in with the non-sampled elements. Most people seem to use realistic drum samples.

I agree with SketchMan, "Nailed It" is a superb track. It flows well and it has such a carefree feeling. smile

Doesn't Famitracker have an expansion chip that allows for stereo separation? I don't see anything impure about that.

I don't believe FamiTracker has that, I know you can export each channel as a solo .WAV file, but I've never seen a stereo expansion chip.

Hey, I was rushing to finish my thang and then my modem cut off and when I reconnected all of a sudden the timer jumped from 1h20m to 2d. My heart jumped... but does this mean it's been extended again?

yay

Yes, Indeed! It was extended to meet up with the date of the livestream, which just happens to be Friday June 7th 23:30 BST (18:30 EDT, 17:30 CDT, 15:30 PDT) it also may or may not have been extended to hopefully get the entry number over 100, so please feel free to submit smile

Botb actually does have AHX registered as a format smile If there's one compo that does feature it, I'd be willing to bet that it'll turn up in something like Summer Chip if there's a demand for it.

So what you're saying is that AHX is registered at BotB, but not for this particular event? But it may pop up in a future event?

Yes, pretty much. We could also host a One Hour Battle with that format, if you would like.

No LGPT?

Sadly I don't believe we have that format, but you should request that it be added! smile Summer Tracks is the time when we break out obscure formats and that one might be a cool addition.

I speak by myself here, but I believe that it is important to always be there if someone is reaching out for help. Just the thought and knowledge that there are real people out there who are sympathizing with you and trying to offer what words of comfort they have can be so uplifting, and incredibly motivating. Now, a chipmusic site isn't the most appropriate place or even the best place to turn to, but when it is all you have, I'm totally fine with it. I'm more than willing to offer what I can to you.

Hey man, sorry to hear what has been going on in your life. No one should have to go through that, at least your girlfriend is still with you!
Be safe, hope everything works out, God bless.

Haha, to tell you the truth, I used to use my Sansa when I was working, blasting IAYD, glomag, and a bunch of others, but it's too much of a distraction and I ended up making more mistakes than I really should have. So I had to stop tongue
