I wish I could have the resources (ie, time) to write a full big-band-esque chart that used a Sega Genesis, a NES, and a Gameboy. I have to get the MIDI-components for each console (monay monay)...

Why not do it in a sample tracker as proof of concept?

so gensis/mdm, midines & arduinoboy/nlmidi w mGB...think that can be had for less than $700 total, could be a lot worse... you could be into modular synths
s waht im saying is sell some stuff you dont want and hopefully you can come up with the cash

i almost never plan out what i want a song to be before i start it, so usually whatever part i start with ends up guiding the whole track...the few times i can think of where i actually even went as far as to think of what genre id like to write recently ended with me either scrapping the song or it just becoming an entirely different genre anyway (if i plan to write hip hop, sometimes metal comes out... no fucking idea why)

link sent, hope you dont mind it being 26 tracks long...probably get a lot of downloads again with some promotion (has henry homesweet, bit shifter, glomag, nordloef, jdd3j, zombectro, albino ghost monkey, etc)

hey, if you're interested, suppose you could re-release the nanoloop2008 comp i put out...think its still getting downloads as is, but, well fuck. more is better, right?

also, giving over full rights with no pay? fuck that...if youre expecting free, most you should be hoping for is someone granting you limited license to use the tracks in your game for free while they retain all other rights.. otherwise you could even sell the soundtrack on its own and pocket all the cash (and on the flip side, the artist themselves wouldnt even be able to sell cds of it at their gigs)

P.S.  Speaking of live music - anyone want to help me set a night up?  I don't really know where to start but I want to contribute to the local scene as much as I can.

well first off, no way we'd ever let the members delete threads...
second, if you read up on the whole 8bc split/founding of this site, you'll see why we feel the need for transparency and accountability...on the other hand, i wouldnt mind the option for additional email notifications myself

I thought we had a post somewhere about this before, but yeah, totally fine.. chip/lo-fi/bent should be a significant part of the tracks, but I'm on staff and upload songs with analog synthesis mixed with midines and bent drum machines
