Any idea what all mods you are planning to do to this or are you just going to add things as you build?

I'm going to cram as many mods into my keyboard as possible. Considering the only mods that draw any additional power are my rocker switch and backlight, I'm only limited by how much room is available in the case. I wan't this keyboard to be the "One Stop DMG". I will want for nothing. wink

maybe a really big laser? large enough to blow up a planet?

I think my favorite track is "Battle Against A Shapeless Opponent"

br is for brightness, not bass.

I always thought it was bass reduction until now

funny thing is, that's one way of thinking of it

i am still having a hard time believing this is for real. it's like i've seen an oasis in the desert and I need to rub my eyes because it's so damn beautiful.

I am getting nervous with excitement over this show.

I use Ableton.  I've just been using it for such a long time that moving into the fakebit realm just felt really natural.

I literally only use these VSTs along with Ableton's Operator.

I didn't even know these VSTs existed and now I am mega depressed that they do not work on Macs.

LOL - well I did release in December, and got one reply. Posted a track for some constructive critisism, nothing at all. So different to the good ol' days in the early 90's.

Stop mistaking this website for "the scene." It's not representative. This is just where a bunch of curmudgeons go to argue about stuff.

Also I remember seeing that thread! But I was at work and couldn't listen to your album. Listening to it now smile

back on topic though, this is probably the coolest sounding release i've ever heard in chipmusic. i'm literally talking about the production and dynamics and panning and mixing of the gameboy and guitar. i don't know how you guys managed to pull it off but this is probably the holy grail that any chip thrash recording should be aiming for. it's sick.

all y'all sound alike

It seems like you mixed in a DAW because when the snare comes back in on that track it is reverbed out more, or maybe I am imagining things.

nope, that is done inside nanoloop. I automated the envelope on the track, so in some places the snare is shorter and in some places it has a long release. nanoloop! woo!

I've been playing this game on my iPhone and the soundtrack is really nice.

Figured I would share it here, it deserves some love smile

Awesome..cant wait to check it out. I feel like the sounds in this program are excellent, and I can get really defined full kicks and basslines.

yep!

Here's the best kick drum I could make with the synth capabilities:
http://decktonic.bandcamp.com/track/night-drive

and here's using WAV drum samples loaded via iTunes, this is practically cheating:
http://jakeallison.bandcamp.com/track/s … onic-remix

also there's no limiter so you can generate some super over-the-top FM basslines, on this track you can't even hear the bassline at 0:48 on laptop speakers because it's too low-frequency:
http://decktonic.bandcamp.com/track/z-s … ke-allison

don't miss out on playing with samples, you can get really cool sounds by taking advantage of the low-fi sample playback. I've been meaning to make a new track with more samples just to see what comes out. Like if you change the note value on a sample track, it changes the timbre and speed so you can stretch your samples in weird ways.

anyway have fun!

When you start a new project, you have to pick from one of their templates right?

yeah, I think "empty synths.nan" is meant to be the blank template.
